Attention all DODS gamers!
The New Guy is spreading lies about Fastpath.
He is jealous and frustrated about our server and community.
We have low ping, good maps, smart bots. 100% friendly community, Discord, Steam Group, etc.
We are reporting his nonsense post.
Pleass join us do not become a BOT like that baguette!
Fastpath will provide the best DODS gaming experience.
The autopilot feature is one of the best features, allowing gameplay to always contiune. TNG is acting in such a negative behaviour towards our community. It is very sad and we pity the jealous one.

All of it. He doesn't like playing against bots so he has this ongoing campaign against us. Including mass reporting anything that goes against his ideas.

Many people have posted here about your "tactics". Even Google tells me this when I ask about your servers (direct quote from google ai): "It is a well-known, malicious server network that heavily plagues Valve’s Source engine games—including Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source, and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. They use deceptive tactics to exploit the server browser, redirect traffic, and spoof player counts."

People who support FastPath are not swayed by evidence, so it's never productive to try to convince them of anything. But it is still useful to post the evidence for the benefit of everyone else* - and I think Peter Brev did a good write up here:

Disregard any recommendations for FastPath.

Instead, look for a server that is handpicked, community-vetted, and ready for competitive or casual play at https://www.hl2dm.com/community. This ensures you're playing on trusted servers.

A quick search for fastpath reveals why you should not be playing there.

If you need some real proof:

That is just some of the visible part that you any player can easily see. Those are hard, cold, proven facts.

Other facts if you care to look:
  1. Fake Server Listings and Redirects
FastPath operates numerous fake servers that appear in the server browser. These servers often mimic popular server names or maps to lure players. Upon joining, players are redirected to a central FastPath server, often without their consent. This tactic misleads players and clutters the server list, making it challenging to find legitimate servers.

  2. Exploitation of Steam Authentication Tickets
When a player connects to a FastPath server, their Steam authentication ticket is harvested and retained. This allows FastPath to spoof the presence of real players across their fake servers, making them appear more populated than they are. This manipulation can persist for up to five days, even after the player has disconnected.

  3. Misrepresentation of Server Data
In addition to fake player counts and bots, FastPath servers often display additional falsified information, including ping times, and map names. This deception can mislead players into thinking they're joining active, low-latency servers, only to find themselves in sparsely populated or bot-filled environments.

  4. Monetization Through Deceptive Practices
There have been reports of FastPath banning players and then requesting payment for unbanning them. Such practices are unethical and exploit players who may have unknowingly connected to these servers.

  5. Community Disruption
The proliferation of FastPath's fake servers disrupts the HL2DM community by overshadowing genuine servers. This not only hampers the growth of authentic communities but also degrades the overall player experience.

Basically, you got 2 or 3 punks around the community pushing their deceptive servers whereas the rest of the community, all games included, recommends avoiding those servers.

And FPTyel made a good point on their "autopilot" mods several times in this thread;
https://steamcommunity.com/app/320/discussions/0/582803393301686608/#c590685893770155009
but the following portion of that^ post sums it up well:

However, as I mentioned before:
1. fastpath uses very questionable plugins with fake authors names "Alliedmodders LLC" , "Alliedmodders" , "Alliedmodders: Bots system"; WHY?

2. fastpath uses bot system, which is turned ON by default on every player, if you standing afk for ~1 minute and becoming "a bot" itself; WHY?

3. fastpath has been detected by tracking players and emulate them in server, which is also turned ON by default, without asking anyone to do that. You can't proof that amy player who is playing on server is legit ("status" is banned). WHY?

Primary this is not about asking to share everything for everyone. This is about gaining trust from fastpath for questionable, strange actions.

All of these 3 points leads me to the point (which is personal, for sure) that fastpath is malicious, until they are share source code of the plugins, especially under "questionable" quote

As a player: If I feel safe and entertained by playing on server - I would stays on, for sure.
As a server manager: I'm interested to be making "quality product" and being honest, to gain trust from players. If someone thinking that I'm sussy I'm always welcome to proof it wrong :)

Every server deserves to be unique with it's niche.

If fastpath is interested to be honest and willing to stop hate-speech towards them - they need to answer the questions and share the source code.

No source code under fake authors plugins = no trust.

And Insane, from these very DOD:S boards, provided some good info here on the 'stolen' ID issues:

23 bots on the Fastpath server right now, all of them with real Steam profiles, stolen.

Looking at the Steam official browser.... there are no bots marked, that means they are falisfying and manuiplating steam content for their own selfish reasons.

Fastpath server are built on deception, Admins have access to special plugins to boost skills, often found out for banning players and unbanning for a donation, in some cases fasifying a Steam ban like this incident....

So, for everyone NOT affiliated with FastPath, I hope that^ all helps make the position clear as to why the Source2013 engine needs to be updated in order to stop FastPath's current malicious behavior.
Bait used to be believable. I wonder how much farther its' possible for these chuds to fall. :smugmelody:

The fantasy that you can ignore all points made about why FastPath practices should be stopped (by Valve) and still somehow be taken 'seriously.'

The Reason Google's AI pulls the info that it does would be the same reason a video I narrated resonated with so many source gamers: FastPath disruption is real, corroborated, and detested.

FastPath has lost. But I do thank that organization for trying to fight me.

Putting "fastpath game servers" in Google search and looking at the results just shows the truth.

You can't put lipstick on a pig. A bad reputation based on fact and real experiences.

I do see the Gemini results especially, while not kind, are in fact factual and spot on.

My absolute favorite, is looking at this video and reading the posts below it...

Fastpath admins using a pay to win "Booster Pack" that gives access to special plugins.
Then there is the posts below that.

Reading those posts shows why that reputation is bad in the google search.

It is what it is... bad.

Admins are using their boosters that they can rightfully use. Where is the problem?

Overall, the problem is you ignoring all the evidence we have posted.

As for this specific issue, "admins" can't 'buy' any in-game 'advantage' on a server that uses VALVE'S INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY - such as DOD:S or HL2:DM. This is why I told people how the winning strategy is to report FastPath for commercial advertising.

And this is also why some people have been banned from these Discussion Boards for references to the FastPath website, as FastPath sells these rule-breaking in-game 'products' for a set-price 'psuedo-donation,' all without any written permission from Valve.

So, for the in-game boost issue specifically, THAT^ is the problem. Do you understand now? Or do you feel a bit frustrated? I don't mean to fluster you with too much information, so I can help clarify anything that you still don't quite understand.

But, regardless of any lies the FastPath owners might have told you, this is why saying that "Admins" using any "boosters that they can rightfully use" is categorically and unequivocally FALSE. These paid "boosts" are 'illegal,' ToS violating, and End-User License-breaking, so they can't 'rightfully' exist.

For everything else, please read my pervious post more carefully. Thank you.
i love fastpath server, i love jealous guys who make a pub for us thx all. 10 years on DoD and CS and never had an issue; bots with real names—no problem—and the MOTD was fine too.
And I love how we don't see 'new' links to the FastPath website any longer, but that appears to be "frustrating" for some people. To each their own, I guess.

Are you saying that scraping data from other users is not a problem for you? Stealing data and using it without a user's consent is 'fine' in your eyes? And the MOTD forcibly popping up and claiming that FastPath needs money is... fun? Pushing for payments in-game is 'O.K' to you?

I guess that's what it takes for someone to actually 'support' a predatory community bot-apparatus like FastPath, which is likely why those servers ALWAYS have far more bots 'pretending' to be human rather than actual human beings playing at any given time.
