Is there a wiki or documentation that explains what everything does?
I started playing recently and I'm loving it. However, I have no way of finding out what certain things do in game. Mods, exploits and executables for example. The encyclopedia doesn't help much, only telling you where to find the stuff.

So is there anything to tell me what things do or am I missing something?

Hi there! This is one of the reasons we’re working on improving the UI soon.

Mods are items which give you passive bonuses when equipped on your hotbar. They only have affixes (properties) that apply globally to all weapons, or to your body (like health, hack speed, etc).

Executables are spell-like abilities that tend to have long cooldowns and fire immediately when you press the button. They’re like weirder guns that don’t require swapping to the gun before use.

Exploits are a subtype of executable. They do some damage when their projectile hits, but if you satisfy their condition - which is that the enemy they hit must have some sort of debuff (which we call a Vulnerability, for instance being slowed or on fire), they have a very strong extra effect. You’ll know when you trigger one! They’re pretty easy to use if you combo them with an EMP or a gun with a high chance to freeze/poison/corrode/weaken/etc.

The discord[discord.gg] is the best place for getting these kinds of questions answered quickly, but thank you for asking anyway - it helps us to know what we can make more clear.
