You should probably give up on Steam for Windows then.

I mean, Denuvo is the only thing that makes it a somewhat acceptable platform for developers right now.

Steam's own DRM doesn't provide much - if any - protection.

Anyway, to actually answer your question (I don't own the game, but this is what I've read): Multiplayer is completely broken, but single-player works.
The game crashes if you choose any mode besides Marathon after startup, but you can work around this by starting Marathon, quitting, then choosing another mode.

Oh, and Steam's Christmas Sale is in a week, it will probably be 50% off like the previous sale.

Why is this illegal? Effect and PPT are still better than whatever Ubisoft tried to make.
