If you only own RO2 and want to upgrade to Rising Storm, make sure you buy from this store page.

Yes, it's just that base game you need to buy. No, buying Digital Deluxe upgrades won't get you RS.

Have you considered making this a sticky?
There were a lot of guys asking the same question the past weeks.

EDIT:
I guess that answers that then :D
I bought the Digital Deluxe, could I get my money back somehow?

You would have to contact Steam support.
It's really a pity that we have to buy twice RO2 game. I already have RO2, so it's a nonsense to buy RO2 again, and spnd more money than i should...
Not thinking about getting RS because of that, and that's really a pity.

If people took the 3 seconds to read what they are buying you wouldn't have to have a thread like this at all.

You actually aren't buying the game twice. You see you bought RO2 right for $20. Rising storm at the time was also $20. $40 all up. Then in September 2014 they made it so if you bought one you got the other free. So really it's the same as it was but as a bonus you get the other game free. It's not $20 for both its $20 for one and one free. If that makes sense.

All in all did you want to wait till September to play?

Rising storm is $5 currently anyway.
So instead of giving it for free for old/returning players (like you're doing for new players since 23 sep 2014), you're asking us to buy it? Haha nice joke. Sorry but I won't support any of your games anymore.

You're a greedy bugger aren't you.

If you want things early you gotta pay for it. Rising storm came out in 2013. This change was made 6 months ago.

Not the same ! I don't care about buying RS honestly, i just don't understand why we can't buy the DLC alone. This pack might be interesting for people who doesn't own the game, but for those who bought the game before RS release, it's just not fair.

I totally agree with DPK, since new buyer can get the game for free, old player should also get it for free instead of having to pay the game again.
Earnings from previous purchases of RO2 went to TWI and Valve. Earnings from previous purchases of RS went to the modding team that developed it, TWI as its publisher and co-developer and again Valve as its distributor. If they just gave RS to those who previously bought RO2, the RS's modding team would find itself on the losing end.

And geez, it's only $5 or €4.5 with the current discount. Why do you even want it if you're not ready to give the RS's modding team some money for their effort? This game has a very niche fan-base. I don't think they can afford to just give it away. I also think that they're expecting that the old, loyal RO2 players would support them by purchasing RS (I, for example, was happy to do it as soon as it was released). You can't expect something like that from new customers.
I would prefer to pay for RS, i am just stuck to the idea that it's not fair to not just sell RS alone : /
This selling policy is utter nonsense. I have the RO2 digital Deluxe and I want the whole package. And why the f-word is the game cut in Germany? Take back the distribution so that I can buy the whole package in one piece you sons of mothers who make love for money. Otherwise tripwire games are a no-go for me...and my friends...
@Arckal: RS was NEVER sold alone, the base game (RO2) was ALWAYS included with it... if I'm not mistaken..

@melonbeton: ask your government and associations why they ban games in your country, and why publishers have to do cut version for your country...

@Onahara Senpai: I bought the game on release, DDE, something like 37€ if I remember, one or two years later, game price was decreased, so with your point of view, I should have free things, or a refund because new players pay less than me? really?

I also bought RS on release, we, owners of RO2 got a discount if I'm not mistaken..., but we bought it... People buying RS without owning RO2 got automatically RO2... So with your point of view, it's unfair? Did you ever notice that the base game price was DOUBLED when they included RS in it?? to match price on the RS page... look here for proof RO2 price https://www.steamprices.com/eu/app/35450/ and RS price https://www.steamprices.com/eu/app/234510/

Really... that does not work as you want... The older a game is, the cheaper it will be, and the better the offers on store page will be..

Actually if you ever wanted to support the game you would already bought it in the past years, because it was on discount on a regular basis... not mentioning the humble Bundles and so on.... So what? after years of not buying the game, you are now complaining because the offers now are better than ever? and new players get the base game + the DLC for cheap? really? AHAHAHA you funny boy.

By the way, with an aging community, it is also a good way to attract new players in the community, that makes it last longer, and the benefits goes to the old players who still have fresh meat.................. years after game release.... but yeah.. it's unfair... LOL
Romano : But what most of us would like is to just have to pay RS.
You said that the base game price doubled, so it mean that when the pack is on discount we are actually paying the discounted price of the doubled pack price..

You see the problem ?
RO 2 was 9€ without RS
RS was 18€ with RO2 included in the package
RO 2 + RS is now 18€

They just did that to avoid people buying RO2 thinking they will have both game. Now a new player ALWAYS has both games and will not have to pay RS (with RO2 included in the package) to upgrade to RS (9 + 18)

You see the no problem?

Everyone had to pay for RS, everyone.
