About This Demo

It all starts with Murray, a man who, on a particularly bad day, did not let a certain driver merge onto the highway. That driver was a witch. In her rage, she sent Murray to The Granule: a dimension beyond death, but not beyond torment. Unknown to the witch and Murray, something already lives there. You.

Granule is a physics sandbox with one subject: Murray. He cannot die. Everything short of that is yours to do.

Everything in the room is simulated, and the fun is in what happens when the systems meet. Water fills the room and drains out. Fire spreads along anything that burns. Ice forms in the cold and melts near the heat. Lightning runs through water and through whoever is standing in it. Portals pass anything through, limbs included. None of it is animated. They are rules, and the rules don't know about each other.

There are many things to play with: a bat, a saw, a shotgun, C4, rope, a poison apple, a boomerang, a confetti cannon, and a power that siphons his brain. The powers run from fire and lightning to portals, antigravity, a black hole, and a spell to mend him. There is more than that, and one slot is sealed for now.

The creatures live by the same rules. Crabs swarm him and get swept away, burned, or pulled through portals like anything else. The Stowaway-01 likes it warm, with disregard as to just how hot. Cut him apart and cast Homunculi, and every piece becomes a smaller Murray.

Murray has a working body under the skin. He bleeds, chokes, burns, freezes, and blacks out, and the diagram shows all of it as it happens. There is no game over. There's just whatever state you left him in.

The room is where you keep him. It is not all there is. The Granule is more vast than he could ever imagine, and you are not its only occupant. Some of the others have already taken notice.

The demo is free. Lots more items, mod support, building, saving rooms, and more creatures and places are planned for Early Access.
