DBAD is Player Supported via Donations. Everyone is welcome to play here with only one enforced rule since its founding...DON'T BE A DICK. Most principled, responsible and conscientious people understand wtf D.B.A.D. refers to. Players from around the world have regularly visited the DBAD family server to relax and enjoy the social ambiance, the fun and thrill of our style of Counter-Strike 1.6 gameplay for nearly 15 years. Our banned list has grown full of dicks, pricks, assholes, cheats and trolls, and will continue to grow in the effort to keep DBAD's +reputation clean. Ever since allowing unlimited multi-jumps during gameplay about 3 years ago, several players have taken advantage of this DBAD server game setting by the OBVIOUS use of advanced variations or hardware aids, where the line crosses into "Exploitation", which is why these techniques, including b-hopping, are not allowed in so many CS 1.6 clan servers.
If you would like to have a better understanding as to why this has become a "major" issue worthy of expulsion, may I suggest jumping (no pun) to the in-depth "EXPLANATION" section following this very bold and loud statement. So, keep reading and become enlightened.

ANYONE WHO ENTERS THE SERVER WILL SEE THESE ***WARNING*** MESSAGES. . . .NO EXCUSES CONSIDERED. NO APOLOGIES, PERIOD.

EXPLAINATION:
These techniques are recognized as fundamental, skill-based movement mechanics inherent to the GoldSrc engine. Air strafing is the base mechanic of changing your direction and gaining speed while in the air (using a sideways movement key and matching mouse movement). Strafe jumping is a specific, chained-together sequence of jumps—like bunny hopping—that uses air strafing to continually build speed without losing momentum on the ground.
While these mechanics originated from a Quake engine bug that bypassed the maximum speed cap, they became a defining element of the Counter-Strike skill gap and are considered basic "advanced" gameplay. GENERALLY.
Ever since allowing unlimited multi-jumps during gameplay, there has been obvious abuse of this game setting. While basic air strafing is considered "legal" when done manually, it is very obvious that is not the case most of the time, considering the ease of using advanced variations or hardware aids as described here:
>Automated Scripts & Macros: Using a script or macro to perfectly time multiple strafes or bunny hops is universally considered cheating. You must input the mouse and keyboard movements (A or D synchronized with mouse panning), ENTIRELY MANUALLY (not easy).
>Ground Strafing / Russian Walking: Binding duck to the mouse scroll wheel to perform Ground Strafing (SGS/GS) allows players to glide silently at extreme speeds. Many competitive 5v5 local servers ban this specific variation because it breaks hitbox configurations and removes footstep audio.
>FPS Manipulation: On standard 100 FPS servers, bunny hopping and multi-strafing have built-in speed caps. Altering client settings or exploiting high FPS (e.g., 1000 FPS) to artificially multiply your airborne acceleration, and WILL BE TREATED AS AN EXPLOIT & SERVER OFFENSE!

Just a reminder that the xmas maps are now playing at DBAD. Type 'maps xmas' or 'maps xmas de' in chat while in-game to see a list of Xmas maps which have "Candy Cane Power-Ups".
***Get Candy Cane Power-Up and a head shot kill with knife/brass knuckles while powered-up and every kill after that will be a head shot kill during the power-up. Power-Ups last about 30 seconds. Additional power-up after a 20 second rest between power-ups.
