Greetings Carthaginians,

I would like to apologize for my quite long and unexpected abscense, it was due to some real life events that I had to prioritize as all of you hopefully will understand. I understand that it has been a long time since we have announced reguarly and been making steady progress but I and the Admin Team will try our best in order to bring the Group on the glorious track it was on a few weeks ago.

I do have a quick question which I hope many of you will answer:

As always we cannot do this without you being interested in participating in the group so I ask you, the members if you are still interested in the ressurection of this group or if you have moved on?

Group Launch Update

Hello Everyone,

This is an update on the status of the group launch.

Most systems are complete, however Hannibal Barca was invited to a holiday of which could not be declined. Therefore he will be away for the next two days, this has caused a slight delay in the start of the group. Of which will be rectified upon his return.

Until then we may continue to update and tune the systems of the group, so that we can work to ensure a flawless official start to the RP.

Update on progress: State system

Greetings fellow Carthaginians! To those of you who are new, welcome to the Grand Republic of Carthage, or as we affectionately call it, GRoC. I, your Master of State, just wanted to provide all of you with an important update: I am beginning work on our new state system, as in how we will manage international affairs. I will be taking applications for my deputies soon, and posting the system and its workings once it has been established. Group Start Imminent!

Greetings Carthaginians,

Sorry for the inactivity these last two days, but my mock exams have proven to be more time consuming than anticipated.

We are closing in on a point where can start the Official Role-Play of this Group. I am aiming for it to be some time this weekend, hopefully saturday but sunday the latest. Before I can post the opening event, which I hope all of you will enjoy, we need to finish updating the positions on the group profile and adding the new sign ups to the profile, and contacting people who have not signed up correcly.

We have not filled all our positions so if you have any friends that you might want to invite please feel free to do so.

Ive been reading over the citizens apps and noticed a few thing that dont line up with our group's current setting. We are in 720BC, Middle east is the center of civilization and where empires fight with their big armies. Carthage is only a 100 years old, only an above average sized town with a couple of small settlement along the Tunisian coast. We cant field an army, we havent fought in many campaigns and our military power is a couple 100 lightly armed spear men patroling the streets and outskrits of settlements. When we do go out in force it is a yet smaller group of citizens lighty armed and in a loose unorganized formation. We are still very much in a stage of development and crudity. We are of course compared to the natives much more foward thinking and innovative.

Summary of Todays Meeting

Greetings Carthaginians,

Here is a quick summary of todays meetings:

1. We started out with a quick over view of how the group is coming a long and what is still missing for it to start. Mainly more Members.

2. We spent a lot of time discussing and voting on a new map, which is currently being made and which I will post as soon as it is done.

3. We went on to conclude the meeting and just discuss some different topics.

The meeting was very successfull, with a good amount of people showing up.

Here is a quick overview of our progression and what we are missing until we can start:

1. We are in need of a few more members especially in the Council as that is going to be the main part of our Role-Play, and it is currently not close to being full and it is mainly controlled by members of the Barcid family.

2. The Economic and Military System need to be adapted to the new map, this should be done soon.

This is about it, remember I will not post a summary for every meeting here, so it is important that you attend.

Economic costing

Reader,

I just wanted to let the group know that the economy is more detailed now, I want to apologise for the delay and the poor quality of the work, I will admit I could of done better but under the circumstances I do have reasons.

When you go to discussions look for the sub-forum "economic" and you will find a base for each characters income sheet. You will also see one for the business income sheet.

The most important thing for the individual is the costing at the moment we have one that will tell you how much it will cost a business to buy in their product. This will help any aspiring business owner to work out their pricing strategy. You make a loss that month then you are needing to worry. If you go bust your company will be seized by the government and the government can cancel it, sell it or run it.

You will find the military costs where you will be able to find out how much it will cost you to create and furbish your own army! Either you can rely on the government to forma army and put you in charge or you can ask the government for permission to make your own. If you make your own you will be the general, pay upkeep and pay for the costing of upgrades.

The government is the governing body so even if you own your army you cannot go against the governments wishes, unless you wish to rebel. The chance you may rebel will add that realism that will make it more difficult for the government to allow personal armies.

We have an events cost sheet that will let the individual know how much it will cost to construct his own buildings, host arena tournaments and host banquets. Remember that events where people get together can be group chat events for anyone taking part. The host may also set his own banquet entry fees.

I would like to indroduce myself to the peoples of Qart-Hadasht. Our Suffet, Hannibal of the Barcid Family, has placed me in the postition of Viceroy of Qart-Hadasht. This makes me the second man to the suffet. I rose from humble beginings as a impovershed Phoecinian's son. My family migrated from Tyre 64 years ago after the falling out of my families estates. The noble name has been forgoten for decades but I rose among my warriors, as a leader of men, as an organizer of arms, as a prudent and dicisive man. I thank Hannibal for trusting in me the managment and growth of our fertile land that has provided for us since the first fields were tilled and planted. With this rise, I proclaim a new family, a new farmer, a new soldier, a new power for the people.

May Tanit make our fields and women fertile and may Bal'Hammon bring strength to our men and blades.

The Communal Act

Greetings Carthaginians,

Before getting to the actual contents of this announcement I would like to say a few words regarding the start of this group. We are basically up and running, all our systems are in place we just need to tweak the economy a little bit, but technically we can start as soon as we get a few more sign ups!

If you are interested in signing up here is the link to the Citizens Registration Services. I ask of all our members to ask around if anyone is interested in joining, and if any questions arise simply come to me and I will answer any questions they might have to the best of my abilities.

Now to the Communal Act, it is something I would like to introduce in this group in order to create a tight knit community where everyone knows each other and interacts with each other inside and outside the Role-Play as it is my belief that this well help further activity in the group.

If there is any games you would like to play as a community weekly or how ever often leave a comment below!

I hope everyone will follow my advice, add each other up, you can see who is a member by looking at the character applications or who is a moderator/admin and add them, maybe have a little chat to break the ice etc..
