Aug. 16, 2013 Kayble and I will be leaving for about 13 months to continue America's efforts in the war on terror, the war in Afghanistan or whatever they're calling it these days. Our actual combat deployment tour is slotted for 9 months however with Annual Training, Pre Mobilization Training and Post Mobilization Training it adds up. I would not be surprised if this tour gets extended due to the statements made by the President of the U.S., the Secretary of Defense and countless others in the hierarchy of command that we are pulling our U.S. troops out of Afghanistan. In fact the President just spoke to U.S. Marines earlier today stating that the war in Afghanistan is entering the "final chapter".

So the fighting that lasted for more than a decade is almost over. Yay! Oh but wait, read the article. He pretty much tells you that we will pick a fight somewhere else when this one is done.

Wish us God speed!
