OPEN THE DOOR BART!!!!! YOU SOLD LISA'S SOUL FOR ALF P00GS. GOTTA PAY THE TOLL!!!!

Brazil (1985), directed by Terry Gilliam, is a dystopian sci-fi dark comedy set in a retro-futuristic, bureaucratic society. Sam Lowry, a timid government clerk, dreams of freedom and romance while trapped in a world of oppressive red tape, surveillance, and shoddy technology. When Sam tries to fix an administrative error involving a wrongly arrested man, he gets caught in a spiral of mistaken identities, government conspiracies, and rebellion. His pursuit of a mysterious woman, Jill, leads him to defy the authoritarian system, blending surreal humor with tragedy. The film critiques bureaucracy, consumerism, and loss of individuality, culminating in an ambiguous, haunting ending. Known for its vivid visuals and sharp satire, it’s a cult classic.
