one of the best roguelites out there, both for solo play and even moreso with friends.

Mechanically, it plays a whole lot like a single-player, roguelike version of the card game Dominion. Build up buying power, upgrade your deck, until finally you're strong enough to load up on the expensive victory point cards to win.

That alone is enough for me to recommend this game, but it'd be a disservice not to mention how weird and beautiful the execution is. It manages to be cozy and calm while also deeply engaging. The little bits of symbolic storytelling whenever you draft cards genuinely had me tearing up at certain moments. I love this game already and will definitely be purchasing the full version.

Fascinating. Mesmerizing. I have not been this glued to a mystery game in YEARS.

Not a very deep game, but a fun little experience. Starts out as just a quirky variation of solitaire, by the end of the game it does feel a little bit like you're divining information from an occult ritual you don't fully understand.

Worth a play!

"Top-down Roguelite Shooter Farming Sim" Might sound like a really weird combination at the outset, but this is a fantastic blending of both genres.

It's an okay game. The idea of a THPS-style roguelike game is cool and fun, but the tricks are extremely limited (4 flips and 4 grabs), and even more importantly the physics just feel kinda janky, especially with the wallride/wallie.

Not refunding in hopes that updates make this good idea into a good game, but in its current state I can't recommend it.

I'm not smart enough to make use of it myself, but the fact that it exists is exciting! Homebrew mod campaigns are gonna be so lit!

Is it significantly more fun than the free online version? Not really.

Also the "updated" graphics are a crime on the eyeballs, jesus christ. Kills much of the nostalgia factor as well when it looks like preschool classroom decor.

Obviously everything in this genre is going to get compared to Slay the Spire. And honestly I think this one holds up in the comparison. The tactical dodging back and forth, weaving between enemy shots, setting up drones and mines and asteroids to block, it adds a whole new dimension to the game, figuratively and literally. The characters are cute and quirky without being "lol so random potato XD!" (some of the crew's idle banter has genuinely made me laugh out loud), and the little glimpses of story you get between runs is quite good.

Strong recommend to anyone who enjoys card battlers.

Never in my life have I spent so long blankly staring at a box with the word "Egg" on it.
