In the world of tactics RPG this is obviously a goliath and it doesn't need any more fellatio than it already receives so i'll just say the game is excellent, one of the best, etc etc etc and here's the finer stuff that is good and bad.

In regards to character customization it could definitely use some work at the base level. We've gone far beyond the level where choosing between 8 faces should ever be the standard in a game of this scale. Proportion sliders, decal scaling (moving and resizing tattoos), hue sliders - I can't imagine these things are much of a problem. If they are, my bad but it seems like 1,000s of games without a gorillion dollars behind them can manage.

The camera is a MASSIVE bummer and will fight you for every single hour you play. This isn't a Baldur's Gate 3 issue, it's a Larian issue and it's gotta stop. It's almost better to play in the top-down mode except for all of the details you'll miss from being too far away. More freedom with the camera would definitely be appreciated, with more zoom in/out being the most obvious want.

Last big point is this game is WAY too long. Everybody talks about it but Act 1 and 3 have far too much to do, and with the way equipment is made to accomodate very particular class builds most people aren't going to risk missing out on the nuclear bomb hiding behind the damsel in distress. I of course appreciate what's been accomplished with these acts but it's hard to deny that sometimes it feels like I'm fighting to make any Main Story progress because I'm far too tied up with several other quests that have presented themselves.

On a final, slightly irrelevant note, playing through this game has reminded me how much I would LOVE to have a game with this level of combat depth in a fantasy style, but designed more around singular "mission-based" content like you're more likely to see in XCOM. The finer points of this game are the hour-long dungeons or the large scale fights, and a game where this was the core focus like you get with things like Monster Hunter, Peace Walker, Dungeon Defenders, etc, is something I'll never stop wanting.

Overall the dust settled on this game a long time ago and it's definitely one to play, but here's hoping the next Larian project could take some notes because we're still not perfect yet.

I was informed by a friend who was actually paying attention to the story that it was "pretty Meh."
It's good to know that I was being optimal by skipping 99% of it within 10 frames of the dialogue starting,.
That's almost where the good feelings end with Blue Protocol: Star Resonance.
The starting / levelling experience of MMOs sucks. This is generally understood. What Is undeniably a new level of horse turds is to make the levelling experience being to rush all MSQ available because it offers roughly 100,000x more experience than anything else you could spend your time on. If you choose to do anything other than rush through the MSQ as quickly as possible you will fall behind anyone that does choose to, so friend groups beware.
In regards to the actual content of this game; I think the combat is pretty sick. The dungeons are 10/10s and the hard modes are 11s. Everything else, though, is the same thing you've always dealt with; just a tank n spank fiesta or a textbook case of coughing baby vs hydrogen bomb as you 2-shot every trashmob on the map. To my understanding there is 7-8 events where you can ACTUALLY use the combat in a fun way and the rest of your time in this game will be mashing either left click or the escape key.
I'd say it's still worth trying out but there absolutely IS pay-to-win monetization in this game, no matter what anyone tries to tell you. Save yourself the time and effort and try any of the other 4 million F2P games out there.

The investment of money isn't nearly as bad as your investment of interest for the next 6 years - If you think you can take it then get it.

The greatest narrative experience a game can offer to date. An essential for anyone that considers themselves a fan of pen and paper adventures, crime and mystery, comedy, grim fantasy, or really any video game ever. Masterpiece. Robert Kurvitz, Helen Hindpere, Aleksander Rostov and everyone else who worked on this game should be praised for their work, and I wish the new management ZA/UM a completely disastrous financial future, hopefully ending in their bankruptcy and a complete state of poverty, you disgusting pigs. Please play a "DEMO" of this game :)

The best open world map created maybe ever. 50% of the bosses are trash, but the other 50% are pretty damn good (still a better ratio than ER vanilla) - Definitely worth getting if u want the challenge cos this โ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅ aint easy.

The game is now mostly stable, and apart from some balance tweak-trolling from the gang, it's in a pretty good spot at the moment.
Never listen to the community on whether this โ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅ is good or not, because they jump from cloud 9 to hotline addicts every week. Give it a go with m8s if possible.

If someone told me about a game that's like RE5, Dark Souls and Diablo slapped together I'd tell them that sounds like hot trash and laugh at them. Somehow, Remant manages to pull it off in a "best possible outcome" kind of way.
The survival/action nature of RE, the general feel of a souls-like and the somewhat random nature of loot and maps from ARPGs brings this game together in one of the most satisfying and surprising ways I've ever seen.
It's really rare you'd find a game where the base game, DLC and each additional mode all feel exciting in their own way, but this game definitely manages that. Hardcore, Adventure and Survival all have plenty to offer and feel like fresh playthroughs with a twist, not to mention their own rewards that will trickle back to your standard story-mode character.

There's an unfortunate truth to how inadequate the melee is as a main option despite the amount of gear focused on precisely that, and it seems like this is being addressed in the sequel, and there are some times where your difficulty may spike to obscene levels for a single encounter

My only real pressing gripe is with some of the common bugs.
There have been several noted times where party members have just fallen dead from nothing more than running, people getting stuck in what appears to be the floor, weird item bugs where their effects are just non-existent, disconnects, crashes, etc. These kind of things are normally an inconvenience, but during the Survival or Hardcore, these can be absolute run enders and a blemish on a co-op session.

Product-wise it's an absolute joy to play when it works, just gotta roll those dice and hope the gods smile on you. If they do you're in for a good one.
