I purchased it on Steam sale 2026, and got a refund after an hour of playing.

Pros: Graphics, gameplay, sound, and overall production design.
Cons: Matchmaking is dead in co-op campaign. It doesn't help that the partner A.I is terrible.

I will re-purchase it ONLY if it's at 90% off.

The game is awesome WHEN I PLAYED IT ON PS2. However, this port is garbage. It is unplayable.

It is good, but not great. I give it a solid 7. However, I would not recommend it at full price.

My review of RE9. (I have been playing RE since the 90s).
As an RE1/REmake fan, I loved Grace's sections the most. They were like a modern RE1. I kept thinking to myself "Please don't switch to Leon" in the first half whenever Grace's campaign faded to black.
What I liked about RE9:
- Graphics
- Voice acting
- Gun sounds
- Bullet impact
- All of Grace's sections
- Leon's Raccoon City sections (minus the bike chase).
I disliked pretty much everything else about the game.
- The soundtrack is not very impactful, and it's quite generic. I wouldn't be surprised if it was made by A.I. The only memorable soundtracks were ones from older games that got featured in this game (nostalgia).
- The plot is rushed and borderline sloppy in the 2nd half. The lazy writing with Zeno, retcons of Spencer and Simmons, Emily being alive (because Capcom didn't have the balls to kill a child).
- All boss fights except Tyrant were basic AF. I liked even RE3R's boss fights more.
- Over the years, Capcom maintained this line where the iconic leads didn't battle armed threats in their gameplay and kept it strictly zombies/BOWs. But they said ♥♥♥♥ that, and make Leon fight Umbrella guards like in ORC.
- The HUNK fight was so easy that it was insulting to both the player and the fanbase of the character. It should have been like Krauser fight but much more complex.
- Lack of FOV slider, lack of storage box (Leon), lack of combining herbs by drag + drop, no mercenaries mode or NG+ (don't bother saving your items for additional runs).
- Leon's gameplay felt stiff and weighty unlike RE4R (Don't give me the excuse of "it's supposed to feel like that" because he is way more OP here than in RE4). On paper, his gameplay mechanics feel like RE6 on steroids, but he moves in a less responsive (floaty) manner, so I felt less immersed in his gameplay.

- I would NOT recommend this game at full price. Please get it on sale.

Pros:
- Excellent atmosphere.
- Smooth gameplay.
- Brilliant visuals.
- Serviceable plot.

Cons:
- The game is short. I have beaten the game almost twice, and my playtime is just 7 hours.
- I've experienced multiple crashes, and a game breaking glitch. At the last act, there was a matchmaking glitch, and my friend couldn't play with me. So he had to watch my stream while I beat the game solo.

Would NOT recommend ONLY for those who found Dead Space 2's combat addictive.

After playing 2 hours of the game, I requested for a refund and it just got accepted.

It's not like the game was BAD. I just prefer DS2 a LOT more for its gameplay.

I completed 3 runs of Dead Space 2 right before I played this and I noticed some downgrades in key elements that made DS1 and 2 super replayable for me personally.

First, the plasma cutter just feels off. The damage feedback and the sound don't feel nearly as satisfying as they did in the first 2 games.

Second, the animation for the kinesis combat is laggy. I prefer the snappy and precise responsiveness of that of DS2.

Because of the reasons listed above, I don't think I would be happy playing this game till the end for the price I paid for it.

So I will re-purchase this on Steam sale.

Excellent game. This and Resident Evil 5 are my favourite TPS co-op games.

Good atmosphere, nothing else. Very boring gameplay.

It's just a side scrolling walking/sneaking simulator.

This is the best third person action game both in terms of graphics and gameplay.
