- Epic bosses!
- Speedrunning!
- Jiggle physics!!1
- Great art!
- Secrets!
- Weapons and cosmetic items! :3

What more could you want in a video game?
That was a rhetorical question.

Rocksmith 2014

I'm absolutely in love with this game. Learning to play guitar or bass has never been more fun than this. All you need is your electric guitar or bass of choice, the game and a cable that you can buy in a lot of stores that sell things related to music or just electronics in general.

When you first start up the game you get to set up a few things just so that you get the most out of your Rocksmith experience. I went with the option of starting out as someone who has never played guitar previously although I did have some knowledge about how to play. If my memory isn't failing me you get to calibrate and tune your guitar before the game lets you continue onwards. The game then explains the basics and how the layout of the so called 'Note Highway' will show you what notes to hit on the guitar. After you've made it through the basics you're ready to go!

At the start menu there are a lot of options to choose from such as 'Learn a song', 'Lessons' and 'Guitarcade'.

As most other people I went with Learn a song instantly because I was so excited to start playing songs. If you chose the option of starting out as a complete beginner the game will take it easy in the beginning by only giving you a few notes now and then. It will feel slow but it was still enjoyable for me. The way this works is that the more notes you hit and the better you do will increase the amount of notes you get on screen. This is called 'Dynamic Difficulty' and is one of the main reasons Rocksmith actually works as well as it does.

I would recommend starting out in Lessons learning some more of the basic stuff like posture, picking and how to use a strap if you want to play while standing up. I think that most people, like me prefer sitting down when playing Rocksmith or they just don't have a strap to stand up. There are a lot of great lessons ranging from the more simple techniques like chords to the advanced stuff like tapping.

Something that a lot of beginners tend to neglect is the Guitarcade, I really think that the Guitarcade is one of the most important features of Rocksmith as the mini-games are fun and help you build up muscle memory that you will need if you want to play the guitar. One of the best mini-games for me is the 'String skip saloon' as it helps you learn to hit the right strings without looking. 'Ducks ReDux' is another important one teaching you the distance between the frets of your chosen instrument.

The most commonly asked question is probably: "Does Rocksmith 2014 really work?"

Yes! It most definitely works. It provides the motivation and fun aspect needed to learn to play the guitar and your favourite songs. If you are thinking about buying this game and your biggest concern is "does it actually work?" then buy it and see for yourself, I can guarantee that you will atleast to some degree improve your playing and general technique.

Rocksmith 2014 has to be one of my favourite games of all time just because of how detailed and enjoyable it is. A function that I didn't even discuss but is a great way to get better is the 'Riff Repeater'. It lets you slow down and practice certain sections of a song or a lesson and really fiddle around with a lot of settings to make it easier for you to learn. Also in 'Session mode' you can jam with AI musicians playing scales at your own tempo and with a lot of different instruments.

10/10

Makes me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside, people who know me would know why and therefor I have to recommend it.

I bought the game for 0,22â‚Ŧ using a coupon and I'm glad I did because I honestly don't feel like the original price of 4â‚Ŧ would be worth it. The game offers about an hour of gameplay and to me it didn't really feel as challenging or rewarding as the first one. If you are looking for a game like this I would recommend playing the first ESJ before this. I prefer the leaderboard system in the first game where top times were your goal and not so much getting a ton of points.

The level design didn't feel as fluent as it did in the first game and I feel like a lot of the stars where just placed randomly with no real reason behind it other than getting more points. This is my personal opinion and I won't say it's a bad system but I simply found trying to get got times and top spots in the first game more fun.

You should only really buy it if you loved the first one, but just as a warning, don't expect to get that much real gameplay out of this one unless you like collecting stars. You will most likely get all of the achievement fairly easily and beat the game in just one sitting.

As a conclusion I think the music is still as groovy and perfect as it was in the first one and there has been a lot of updates to the visual style but the lack of new mechanics and the short time that it takes to complete it brings it down. Nevertheless, in the end I did enjoy it because I love these kind of games :)

It's a mod. Made by a man named Garry. Garry was no ordinary man. He made a mod. That mod was called Garry's Mod. You see? Pretty clever right? Since this game is in fact a mod, and that mod is made by Garry, he named it Garry's Mod. Garry's Mod is therefor obviously made by a man named Garry. But what if this game called Garry's Mod is not in fact made by a man named Garry?! Then what would that mean??! That he is a man who likes to lie about his name? Or perhaps he just wants to conceil his identity? That might be the answer. Identity theft is a common thing you know. If that is his reasoning behind calling Garry's Mod then that is indeed pretty clever. You can never be too careful these days. It's like that time when Garry bought a teddy bear, which he wouldn't confess was meant for himself and said that it was a gift for his niece in Spain. Although he thought to himself that it was a pretty clever lie, it really wasn't.

You're most likely asking yourself, how did we end up in this situation? Well young man, that answer is not one you'll be hearing about any time soon. See you next year.

Eets Munchies Review

I originally got this game when it was in beta through a Humble Bundle a little while ago. I believe I tried it once and then just never got around to playing it more. When I first tried Eets Munchies I instantly fell in love with the cartoony style and feel of the game. The music is very fitting and also enjoyable to listen to.

That was back in the Beta, now that it has been updated I have to say that I am very impressed. I am so glad I thought of starting this game up again just to see that it now had achievements and steam workshop support to make your own levels! I can definitely see myself playing this for hours just trying to get all the treats in every level.

As for the gameplay, it is a very relaxing and casual indie game with 48 regular levels in 4 differently themed worlds plus a mystery world which has 12 unlockable levels which are significantly more difficult than the other levels in the game. While playing the game you get introduced to a bunch of different mechanics that spice up the puzzle solving quite a bit. The gameplay is very enjoyable and I like the fact that you can switch between three different speeds ranging from slow to fast.

The controls and puzzle maker are great and the animation is bloody fantastic. I recommend this game to anyone who is looking for or want to play a casual and extremely enjoyable game. The concept of having 3 treats to collect in every level and the more treats you collect the more items you unlock in the puzzle maker is great and it makes for a very nice and a little bit addicting game to play when you want to relax from all your hardcore competitive fps shooters(am I right?).

To sign this review off I feel like I need to state that as a person who is a little bit of an achievement junkie or whatnot this game is absolutely worth it, even if it wouldn't have had achievements I would still have recommended it. Although we all love achievements so what is there to complain about? Some people might say that 6,99â‚Ŧ or your regional equivalent is too much to ask for but I don't think so, in my honest opinion this game is worth atleast 7â‚Ŧ. My advise is that you should buy this as soon as you get a chance to, but if you don't want to then don't ;)
