- Optimization is kinda crap.
- Animations, cutscenes, and audio syncing are a bit sticky at best and need serious work
- Some interactions are REALLY janky and a lot of the mechanics and balancing need serious patching.
HOWEVER
It's fun as ♥♥♥♥ to play, I'm gonna be honest I haven't even gotten into multiplayer yet; the almost 7 hours I have has just been spent trying to get all the challenges and achievements that I can in the 'Michael's Story' singleplayer mode. Also fun fact, it appears as though you can earn progression and unlock A LOT of stuff just by playing singleplayer so there's definitely replayablility and a lot to do. Idk if that's something people are saying is an issue but I certainly don't think so.
Just playing as Michael against npc's is fun enough as is; I'm cautiously hopeful to see where this goes.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS
It's not 'unfinished', War Sails has been indev for months. it just launched, and the patchlist is like 17,000+ words; this is a MASSIVE change to the game and bugs/issues are guaranteed. The devs are releasing patch after patch after patch bc TW actually gives a ♥♥♥♥.
Let them work.
This dlc is a smash hit, easy 10/10
It was very generously gifted to me by a friend but I would've paid for if I could. And I probably will in the near future, because I will gift this game WITH War Sails to at least 2 other people.

Amazing game! Very fun, relaxing, and calming. The building is simple and intuitive, but also allows you to be really intricate and creative. I can't wait to see how they expand it, hopefully with more features and build options. Absolutely fantastic game, and a must-have for fans of dioramas, building sims, or overall enjoyers of cozy, cottagecore aesthetics. Highly recommend!

F*** the devs for forcing me to download it through their own launcher and not directly through Steam. I SURE do enjoy waiting 30+ hours to download my game because their stupid launcher throttles my download speed to like, 25 megabits a second.
Hopefully they remedy this issue is FS24.
Overall, fantastic game, 6/10
I would give it a 8 or 9 but, I have 111 hours and most of them were spent trying (in vain) to download it.

Originally I recommended against this game because of the server issues preventing me from ever being able to play it, but they got things sorted out!

Once you get a hold on the controls, it's really fun and the time just melts away. I played over an hour and it breezed by. The combat is surprisingly smooth, and the gameplay is quick, tense, and exciting. Every time you win is a thrill, and it's a total rush to go round-for-round against enemies in Survival mode. The different characters each have unique combos, with Samuel and Alexander currently being my favorites.
With some more development and fine-tuning, this game will easily be a masterpiece in it's own right. It captures realistic sword fighting so well, and makes every duel feel tense and dangerous. You can win or lose in the blink of an eye.
I haven't yet dared to try out first-person mode, because I feel like it'll be so much more of a challenge.
8/10 really solid
