When it works, there's some genuinely good fun to be had with this story DLC. Graphics are fine, presentation is high-effort and the combat is as great as usual. Unfortunately, there are some frustrating bugs, performance issues and known crashing which aren't even a thing in the main campaign. This is likely attributed to the fact that it was actually WB Montreal who developed this content while Rocksteady had been focusing on the main event. I'm consistently unable to access the DLC's free roam after completing the Joker/Harley boss fight; a system error pops up and the app shuts down even after reinstalling. You'd really think all the most serious problems would've been patched after nearly an entire decade, but here we are.

Due to the rough performance issues, 'A Matter of Family' gets a generous 6.5/10. I'd give it at least an 8/10 if there weren't so many technical problems. Definitely wait for a sale.

Injustice 2 asking $9.99 for all four turtles fully voiced, fully customizable and fully playable with the main roster >>> Street Fighter 6 asking $15 for a -SINGLE- turtle costume you can only put on your soulless World Tour avatar

Great job, CAPCOM.

Special thanks to Games for Windows Live (GFWL) and CAPCOM's lack of concern, I cannot in good faith recommend purchasing this port. The GFWL service no longer exists so you'll start up the game and see the DRM overlay go into a signing in loop. Since you're unable to close the overlay as it continuously tries to sign-in, you actually cannot play this game anymore without an unofficial patch by the SFxT community. This is completely unacceptable and it's incredible that this product is still allowed to be sold in its current state.

It's worth the price for entry.

The game worked fine for me before and I would've recommended it at the time. Now it crashes during the initial loading screen and I'm told EA shut down this version's multiplayer in August of 2019. You'll have to get the "Remastered" version now if you wish to play online still.

EA really should have given the remaster for free to everyone who bought the Ultimate Box but they've chosen not to. This is a typical precedent from one of the most greedy and disliked video game publishers ever.

Pros:
+A lot of voice acting for an MMO which actually surprised me when I first played DCUO back in 2011
+Some of your favorite DCAU voice actors reprise their roles (Kevin Conroy as Batman, Mark Hamill as Joker, Corey Burton as Braniac, etc.)
+Character customization
+Decent combat/character abilities
+Cross-play support
+You can traverse around fairly well-made renditions of Gotham City & Metropolis

Cons:
-Some of your favorite DCAU voice actors didn't reprise their roles (Clancy Brown as Luthor, Tim Daly as Superman, Susan Eisenburg as Wonder Woman, etc.)
-Customization is vastly inferior to City of Heroes, a similarly-themed MMO that had launched in 2004. Nearly 7 years before DCUO
-No Cross-save support
-The game doesn't do nearly enough to make you feel like you're in living and breathing environments
-The current state of the player base makes you wonder how much longer the servers will be up

VERDICT: I really wanted to enjoy this game. Unless you're dead set on trying DCUO out and plan on putting down some money for the DLC, this MMO just isn't worth the time.

At this point, get the Champion Edition. I'd even recommend upgrading if you already have a previous version of SFV and you feel like getting back in. It's the complete package that people have been wanting from the very start with every single piece of DLC minus any of the CPT or Red Bull stuff. All costumes that are unlocked have all the colors available right away so now there's no need to grind out the trash survival mode against brainless AI. With the CE upgrade, Fight Money has effectively been made useless until we get some new content after the balance patch hits in February 2020.

$25-30 for 40 characters, 34 stages and literally hundreds of dollars worth of DLC is a surprisingly good gesture from Capcom.

If you're just starting out on the PC version of GTA Online and you've played tons before on console, I highly suggest that you contact Rockstar support via live chat right now. You won't get your console characters and unlocks transferred, but there's a very good chance that support will give you a one-time RP adjustment and $5-10M to make up for console purchases. I was rank 125 on the PS4 so that adjustment was an absolute godsend.
