Unlike it's sucessor Mafia II, Mafia III is a political statement masquerading as a game.

Aspects of Mafia III Worth Criticizing

● Arresting & Bribing Removed! Police in Mafia III won't attempt to arrest you. They'll shoot you on sight and you can't bribe them.
● Melee Combat Removed! Civilian NPCs no longer fight back and seemingly die from a single slap in the face or punch to stomach.
● Lockpicking Removed! You can no longer lockpick your way into cars. You automatically brake the window or it implies you picked it.
● Functionality Removed! Unlike Mafia II, Mafia III does not have functional mirrors, faucets, toilets, lights, showers, fridges, jukeboxes.
● Car Functionality Removed! You can no longer interact with the hood, trunk, engine or store corpses in the trunk of your car.
● Door Functionality Removed! You can no longer close doors.
● Clothing Stores Removed! Change from safehouse wardrobe only.
● Restuarants Removed! You can no longer eat or drink anything.
● Weapon Arsenal Limited! You are now limited to 2 weapons.

Aspects of Mafia III Worth Praising

● The Soundtrack. One of the saving graces of Mafia III was its sountrack. Apart from the mention of New Orleans in the song "House Of The Rising Sun," despite the in-game city being called New Bordeaux, ruining any immersion they've tried to create.

Buisness Decisions Worth Criticizing

The California based company, Hanger 13 pushed their political agenda at the expense of game functionality, graphical fidelity and the expense of the Mafia franchise. Since Mafia III's release, Hanger 13 has gone through 2 rounds of layoffs as of February 2018.

It's an alright game if you receive it as a gift or are interested in achievements but this game doesn't offer you much. Not only does Gat out of Hell bring nothing to the table that's innovative, furthering the gaming industry as a whole, in an abominable sum of ways it's going in the complete opposite direction. Personally, if this game wasn't $5.00 USD, I could've happily lived the rest of my life without spending a second in "Sinterpool."

Aspects of Saints Row: Gat out of Hell worth criticizing

● No Soundtrack. Unlike Saints Row, Saints Row 2, Saints Row: The Third or Saints Row IV, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell doesn't have a music soundtrack. No radio, you're in Hell, silly.

● No Character Customization. Unlike Saints Row, Saints Row 2, Saints Row: The Third or Saints Row IV, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell doesn't allow you to change your appearance.

● No Graphical Enhancements Since 2011.

● No Modifications Made To Engine Since 2011.

Aspects of Saints Row: Gat out of Hell worth praising

● A single DLC pack? Unlike Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row IV, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell doesn't have $60.00 USD+ of downloadable content; it has 1 DLC.

Many reviewers seem to give products a positive rating if they've received it for free or on sale, well, I did and that's not reason enough any more; it's not going to cut it. It makes for a good laugh but truly, it's repetitive, cheesy and the majority of the game you spend killing demons in one way or another to complete all 101 challenges. I didn't enjoy it as much as much as previous titles in the franchise and Volition, stop making half baked downloadable content ideas into games.

Wasteland Workshop should've been free downloadable content that implements user suggested modifications into the base game. Instead, we got a cheesy bare bones dlc that adds 458 new items to the crafting menu and 328 of those items are literally letters.

At the time of writing this review the mods Homemaker, SSEX, Spring Cleaning, Settlements Expanded, and Scrap Everything have been in development for months and are leaps and bounds beyond what this dlc has to offer. Bethesda should have taken pages from their books, stole the book and ripped it off or implemented their work directly into Wasteland Workshop and compensated them. I don't know if Bethesda employees are lazy, they're not paid enough or they just don't care.

Now I know why they seem to be interested in paid mods, if you lack the creativity or motivation to create something, why not take a cut from those who do?

The Witcher 2: A.O.K. is a linear, chapter based story game inwhich you to decide the fate or future through the choices you make throughout your journey, that's as straight forward as it can get.

Aspects of Witcher 2 Worth Praising

● The Ability To Save Wherever. Sadly not many games allow you to save on your own time and it's certainly appreciated at least by me when a developer includes it. You can save anywhere when you're not in combat or a cutscene.

● Unique Outlook Through Different Eyes. One unique aspect of the Witcher 2: A.O.K. is that throughout the game you're able to play as different characters and the choices you choose with those characters greatly impacts the story.

Aspects of Witcher 2 Worth Criticizing

● Quick Time Events. An overwhelming majority of quests involving melee combat include this "mechanic." I've said it time and time again, quick time events are not a valid combat mechanic and only conceal the developers incompetence.

● Lack of Game Funtionality. You can't swim or jump in the Witcher 2: A.O.K. and there's invisible barriers preventing you from falling or going more than knee deep in water.

● Can't Rebind Particular Keys. In the Witcher 2: A.O.K. you use Mouse1 to activate doors, talk to people, light torches, fight, climb up or down ledges, and quick time events; pretty much the majority of things in this game. This is ridiculous as you constantly swing your sword or light a torch when you want to open a door.

For a linear chapter based game that heavily uses cutscenes, I enjoyed traveling through the game and felt the story was an interesting experience; I'll recommend the Witcher 2. A.O.K.

Aspects of Grand Theft Auto IV Worth Praising

● Independent FM. As with Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, you have your very own customizable radio station to play your own music while exploring Liberty City.

● The Video Editor. Unfortunately not many developers provide their players with a tool such as the Video Editor, this tool allows you have seemingly endless opportunities for creating videos and screenshots.

● No Weapon Use Restrictions. Unlike its successor Grand Theft Auto V, Grand Theft Auto IV doesn't restrict the use of your weapons while inside your safehouses or whether you're in a store. Hence, allowing you to shoot anything and everything inside your home as you desire or use it as refuge from the police.

● Forward Thinking Online Modification Ideology. Regardless of your view on Games for Windows Live, the online aspect of Grand Theft Auto IV doesn't ban users for using modifications but instead segregates those who have modified game files unlike its successor, Grand Theft Auto V. Whenever you would like to rejoin regular sessions, simply remove the modified files, replace the original ones or reinstall the game.

Aspects of Grand Theft Auto IV Worth Criticizing

● Optimization. Regardless of your hardware specifications or how much you've spent on it, you're going to experience 30 frames per second frame drops while driving at high speeds.

Deplorable Digital Rights Management Restrictions

● Rockstar Social Club. Without signing into the Rockstar Social Club you can't play online or track your statistics on the Social Club. If you want to remove it, simply remove the paul.dll.

● Games for Windows Live. Without a Live account or offline local account you can't save your single player progress. You can easily get around this disgrace by installing a modified version of the xlive.dll. I've linked it below if you would like a purely offline uninterrupted experience.

● SecuROM. This revolting abomination limits your installations of Grand Theft Auto IV to 15. If you frequently change your PC or replace most of your PCs parts, your access to Grand Theft Auto IV will be terminated. Those who pirate this product don't have to worry about limited installations.

Some consumers don't care about their rights for the products they purchase but most of these services treat consumers worse than pirates. Dispite of the stomach-churning digital rights managment restrictions, I recommend Grand Theft Auto IV if the price is right.

Although it may not be one of the most graphically appealing survival horror games, it's certainly worth checking out if it's for the right price.

Aspects of DreadOut Worth Praising

● Unique Mythology. The concept of using Indonesian folklore in a survival horror game is a unique one and exclusive to DreadOut.

● Easy Achievements. Most of the achievements involve you taking a picture or whitnessing something.

Aspects of DreadOut Worth Criticizing

● Extremely Low Resolution Textures & Pop-In. This game showcases some the of worst textures in recent memory with some textures being worse than in games released 10 years prior! Regardless of your hardware specifications you're going to experience vegetation pop-in.

● Settings Don't Update When Selected. You can't get past the first screen inwhich you select the language you desire your subtitles to be in unless you restart the game. You also can't change the resolution to a non-native resolution unless you restart your system while your desktop is in that desired resolution.

● Pre-Rendered Cutscene Outfit Issue. Regardless of what outfit you're wearing from the Soundtrack & Manga downloadable content, some cutscenes will feature Linda in her default school outfit.

Honestly, what can I say about Grand Theft Auto V that hasn't already been said? I enjoyed my time in Los Santos just as much as anyone else although I feel that there's so much to praise and criticize Rockstar on with this product that all of it can't fit inside the confines of this review.

Aspects of Grand Theft Auto V Worth Praising

● Interesting Selection of Licensed Music. It wouldn't be a Grand Theft Auto title without a wide range of unique music to listen to, would it? You certainly have to give credit to Rockstar for their unique selection of licensed music in their game!

● The Introduction of The Rockstar Editor. Not many developers have ever took the time to create a content creation tool such as the Rockstar Editor. This tool provides seemingly limitless opportunities for videos and screenshots.

● The Ability To Approach Combat Situtations In Multiple Ways. You have stealth mechanics, silencers, fragmentation mines and sticky bombs along with the ability to use your weapons while parachuting at your disposal.

● The Ability To Add Custom Music Via Self Radio. Although Grand Theft Auto V doesn't give you any way to listen to your music on-foot, you at least have the ability to add your own custom songs just as in previous titles through Self Radio.

● The Feature To Replay Missions. In previous Grand Theft Auto titles you had no way to re-experience missions once you've completed them. This time around Rockstar has implemented the feature to replay missions! It allows you to re-experience mission and aspire towards a 100% gold rating through weapon accuracy and various mission specific objectives.

● The Feature To Save Whenever, Wherever. In previous Grand Theft Auto titles the only way you could save was to go to your safehouse or apartment. This time around you can quick save straight through your phone!

● Online Character Customization. Grand Theft Auto V offers hundreds of unique articles of clothing including hats, earings, glasses, armor, shirts, pants, shoes and a multitude of other accessories to customize your online character with.

Aspects of Grand Theft Auto V Worth Criticizing

● Failure To Update Single Player Alongside Online. You can't purchase car insurance, call for vehicle delivery for your vehicles or purchase apartments in single player. If you take your car out on a mission or it gets destroyed, it's gone forever.

● First Person Field of View Limitations. The "First Person On Foot Field of View" slider isn't labeled in any way and is extremely narrow. There is no way to increase your first person field of view in a vehicle.

● No Way To Listen To Music On Foot. Unfortunately, it's always been this way in every Grand Theft Auto title. This leads people to favor motorized vehicle transportation and procrastinate longer than they should as they don't want to leave the vehicle they're in. For a game that takes place in 2013 you would think you have the ability to purchase a pair of earbuds at the gas station and use your phone to listen to the radio or purchase music with in-game money on an iFruit app, but no.

● Unskippable Introduction & 30FPS Loading Screen Limit. There is no way to skip the introduction in the beginning of the game and it's locked to 30 frames per second. Most don't mind waiting 30 or more seconds every time they start the game but all of those seconds certainly stack up, especially if your game crashes often. As for the frame rate restriction, the only limitation that should affect a loading screen's performance should be your hardware but that unfortunately isn't the case in Grand Theft Auto V. Some people can't handle going from 80, 120, 144 or higher frame rates to 30.

● Franklin, Michael and Trevor Will Always Change Their Clothes. When ever you first load into single player, switch characters or return from multiplayer, your character will have their clothes reset every time. Some don't care, but some inviduals painstakingly customize their character only to have it reset. This doesn't affect your online character however.

Aspects of Grand Theft Auto Online Worth Criticizing

● The Quantity of Online Missions Is Lacking. While Rockstar may continually increase the amount of items you can purchase with the money you earn, they don't bother themselves increasing the amount of missions you can earn money from. Not all missions are created equal so Grand Theft Auto V Online can turn into a grind fest very quickly.

● Poor Player Management & Connection Issues. Players are segregated based on their targeting mode preferences in the "gamepad" settings menu. Assisted Aim is set as default thus every other gamemode on any other preference is never full and players will constantly leave. You have to continulessly leave to find a new session and at times you'll randomly disconnect from everyone else.

DRM Restrictions & Business Decisions Worth Criticizing

● Take Two Issuing C&D Letters. On the 15th of June 2017 Take Two issued a cease and desist letter to the team at OpenIV essentially proclaiming single player modifications should be illegal. They've done this before with an alternate multiplayer service named FiveM.

● Social Club Digital Rights Management Restrictions! Steam owners of Grand Theft Auto V can't play unless they're signed into a Rockstar Social Club account and it's launched through Steam. These restrictions only affect people who have legally purchased this product.

● Online Progress Not Saved Locally! Because everything you do online is tied to the Social Club service and not any sort of offline save file that you can backup for future use or load into individual user hosted servers, 10, 20, or 30 years from now when they're not raking in enough money to keep their servers afloat, all the ranks you achieved and money you earned or payed for would have been for nothing.

● Inability To Change License Plate In-Game! Instead of adding the feature to change your license plate in-game, Rockstar decided to outsource this feature to a third party app called "iFruit." This app is only available on Google Play, the Apple or Windows app store.

Although it's a simplistic, heavily scripted, linear experience, it's one of the most optimized, visually appealing, interesting ones available. It's been a while since a game compelled me to write a review and if the price is right, I can absolutely recommend Bioshock Infinite.

Unique aspects of Bioshock worth noting

Elizabeth's Pathfinding, Awareness & Helpfulness. In years prior many companions in games would get you caught, waste all of your ammo, die, or block you from progressing all while being totally silent. Elizabeth will toss you ammunition or money should she find any, will move out of your way if you walk close to her and will constantly make remarks about her surroundings.

The use of the Sky Hook and Skylines. Sure, conventional methods of transportation are just fine and dandy but it certainly never hurts to think outside the box! It's quite an enjoyable experience zipping throughout Columbia on the Skylines while fighting enemies.

Aspects of Bioshock Infinite worth praising

● No Third Party Digital Rights Management. No limited amount of machine activations, no "always online" requirements, and no services other than Steam you need to sign into to play.

● The Achievement Progress Saving System. You can reload checkpoints to accumulate kills and loot containers. And if you were to ever miss any Voxophones, Telescopes or Kinetoscopes, you can simply go to "Load Chapter" and select the chapter you believe you missed it on and collect it. However, you have to be weary about Infusions as they have to be obtained in a consecutive playthrough.

Aspects of Bioshock Infinite worth criticizing

● No In-Game Option To Toggle HUD or Holster Weapon! This is an unfortunate trend in many 2K Games and 2K Games affiliate products going back years. Honestly, what's the point in developing such beautiful scenery if you're not going to have the ability to take screenshots of it without a Health bar, Shield bar, Vigor bar, your arm and your gun getting in the way?

● 2 Weapon Limitation. In previous Bioshock titles you had access to a wide range of different weapons via a weapon wheel. This time around it's limited to just two weapons.

● Lackluster amount of choices or alternative endings. For a game that's circled around infinite parallel universes with infinite possibilities, why does Bioshock Infinite have such a lackluster amount of meaningful choices or any sort of alternate ending? It's debatable if Bioshock Infinite really needed any but I certainly wouldn't want to be the individual aruguing for less.

Development disagreements & degradation of the product!

Bioshock Infinite was originally going to be more of an open world game with a variety of features but with disagreements in development accompanied with the limitations the product was facing on other platforms, they decided to scrap most of what they were working on to create the version you see before you. The product Irrational Games showcased at E3 2010 is significantly different compared to the product that's available to the consumer.

Not every game has to have more than one ending, stealth mechanics, weapon customization, a third person player view, character customization, a variety of meaningful choices, manual save mechanics, modification development tools or have no scripted moments to be a decent game. Sure, any one of these features would have been great additions and dispite of the downgrade, I can absolutely recommend Bioshock Infinite if the price is right.

Just Cause 2 takes place in South East Asia on the Panau islands. You play the role of a man named Rico Rodriguez sent to track down a dangerous American. However, in order to get the information you need you work with the 3 rebel/criminal factions, the Reapers, the Roaches and the Ular boys against the country's oppressive government.

Just Cause 2 is a beautiful game, sure, but looking back I honestly would want to take the over 100 hours I spent on completing this game to 100% back. It's a grind fest, all Just Cause 2 consists of is collecting weapon parts, vehicle parts and destroying a number of things to reach 100% completion in any given settlement. There isn't very much replayability once you've completed every settlement to 100%.

Aspects of Just Cause 2 Worth Praising

● Destructive environments. The majority of trees and shacks in the environment will come tumbling down if you use explosives or crash into them with a vehicle.

● Creative transportation. The idea of using a parachute while using your grappling hook to slingshot your way across the landscape it quite creative and exclusive to Just Cause 2. I often find this method of transportation superior to using conventional land vehicles.

● Plenty of vehicles to drive! Cars, bikes, atvs, boats, helicopters and planes are all in this game.

Aspects of Just Cause 2 Worth Criticizing

● No licensed music. You often take licensed music in other open world games for granted but after playing through Just Cause 2 for over 105 hours, it makes you realize that it's the only thing keeping you sane. It couldn't have cost that much to license music from obscure artists or at least implement a feature where you can manually install music tracks and listen to them through your PDA while you're zipping around Panau, could it?

● Horrid voice acting. It's debatable but it can only be seen clearly if you have experienced a multitude of other products to compare. Personally, I see it better than Ride to Hell Retribution although Bolo Santosi and the npcs you have to escort through stronghold take overs are the cringe worthy.

The differences between Metro 2033 to Metro 2033 Redux are significant while the differences between Metro: Last Light and Metro: Last Light Redux are unfortunately miniscule and in some cases not noticeable. I personally purchased this game for some easy achievements but that's not to say I didn't enjoy what I experienced. However, I feel there's a bit to praise and criticize 4A Games on with this product.

Note worthy additions to Metro: Last Light Redux:

● Enhanced lighting. This time around Metro: Last Light has been brightened and it now features lens flares! Whether it's for the better, that's up to you to decide!

● Many textures in Metro: Last Light Redux have been slightly enhanced. However, this enhancement will not be noticeable unless you're running the graphical settings on Very High.

● Enemies are now more responsive to light and sound. If you fall from a high place or turn off a light, expect an enemy to investigate.

● The addition of safes. Hidden throughout the game are safes with corresponding keys. These safes contain a variety of items including ammunition, military grade ammunition, grenades, throwing knives, etc.

Chapter enhancements (For users who have played through the original Metro: Last Light)

In the chapter Reich, you now have the ability to jump when you're in the chase scene with Pavel.

While fighting the Rhino in the chapter Undercity, nosalises will now attack you. It makes fighting the Rhino a little more challenging, but not nothing you shouldn't be able to handle.

Aspects of Metro: Last Light Redux worth praising:

● The ability to approach a combat situation in multiple ways. Sneaking, knock out kills, use of silencers, and using the darkness to sneak up on enemies. It may seem silly and common knowledge but many games in the current gaming industry fail to deliver anything more than just a watered down run and gun experience.

● The new A.I. combat subroutines are irritating yet innovative. If you're approaching a combat situation guns blazing be prepard for some jumpy, trigger happy enemies.

● The achievement progress saving system. In the original Metro: Last Light, progress was saved in a consecutive playthough. This time around you can reload checkpoints to accumulate kills, unlock safes, filter air time, burn cobwebs and unscrew light bulbs.

● No unsynced voice and facial animations. Although a little wonky, the facial animations and voice are never unsynced from start to finish. That's certainly saying something considering the majority of the games created today have the issue with unsynced facial animations.

● No in-game store. The majority of developers feel the need to put a direct link to their game's downloadable content within the game itself. This angers some consumers while ruining the immersion they're trying to create.

Aspects of Metro: Last Light Redux worth criticizing:

● Non-existant NPC eye tracking. I never realized how important eye tracking was before I played the Metro series. Almost all of the NPCs in Metro: Last Light Redux feel as if they're staring off into space, unaware of their surroundings or the player.

● Copy and paste menus and user interface. The menu and user interface of Metro: Last Light Redux is the exact menu and user interface that Metro: Last Light used back in 2013.

● The watering down of achievements within the game. While they may have added 5 new achievements, they have completely gutted 28 from the game, including ones that were from once downloadable content.

New achievements 4A Games has added to Metro: Last Light Redux:

1. Veteran - Choose three primary weapons that use different ammo.
2. Pyromaniac - Burn 50 Cobwebs.
3. Engineer - Use 10 Lever Switches.
4. Master Thief - Open 10 locked safe boxes.
5. Cheers! - Drink at every occasion.

Achievements that were in Metro: Last Light but were not present in Last Light Redux:

01. Weapon Smith - Install all possible Customizations for a Weapon.
02. First Draft - Write 10 of Artyom's hidden Diary pages.
03. Tesla - Break 50 Lights.
04. A Present - Take the Custom Pistol from the Locked Box.
05. Businessman - Make 100 Purchases.
06. Diver - Fall in the Swamp 10 times.
07. Soup - Kill 5 Shrimp with Grenades.
08. Equipped - Find all Equipment Stashes in the swamps.
09. Walking Bank - Collect 1000 Military Rounds.
10. Inferno - Set 2 Enemies on fire at once.
11. Forgotten - Find the Hidden Ammo in the abandoned part of the station on the QUARANTINE level.
12. Musician - Use all Musical Instruments in the game.
13. Nobody's Home - Ignore the Phone Call in the Anomaly.
14. Bloodlust - Kill all the Reds on the THE CHASE level.
15. Van Helsing - Kill a Demon with the Helsing.
16. True Spartan - Hold the Platform without dying.
17. Gunslinger - Kill at least one Enemy with each Weapon available in the game.
18. Shadow Ranger - Complete the game without killing any Humans unless forced to.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
20. Sniper - Kill 10 enemies with headshots using your sniper rifle.
21. Artifact - Find 30 artifacts.
22. ♥♥♥♥ Homini Lupus Est - Kill 100 enemies with heavy weapons.
23. Willpower - Сomplete at least one HUGE mission.
24. Arachnophobia - Kill 20 spiders with your flame thrower.
25. Specialist - Complete the SHOOTING RANGE and ARENA.
26. Safe Cracker - Open 8 safe boxes on the PAVEL level.
27. Hunting - Kill 20 Nosalises on the KHAN level.
28. Eagle Eye - Kill more Watchmen than Artyom does.

Unfortunately, this product can only be launched while connected to a network. These type of business decisions only affect the users who have legally purchased this product. If people have interest in pirating this product, they're going to find a way around this restriction.

The original Metro: Last Light has been removed for purchase from the Steam Store. If you some how manage to find a Metro: Last Light Steam license from a 3rd party source, best of luck finding licenses for the downloadable content. My condolences go out to the users who care about achievements and have purchased Metro: Last Light before it was removed but did not have time to purchase all of the downloadable content. These users who have only purchased the base game will never be able to obtain 100% achievement completion for this product.

I didn't enjoy this game as much as the original Metro Last Light, but I would certainly recommend it if the price is right.
