Kudos to the creator, but Paradox selling this for six bucks is a cash grab.

I can't believe we paid for this in the Ultimate Edition. Definitely a cashgrab. Do not buy this if you did not pay in the Ultimate Edition.

all these millennia of human civilization. all the things our species achieved after centuries of knowledge, wisdom and innovation... technology, art, wars, love, heartbreaks, families, generations... peaked right at this point. every decision we have given in our lives for a thousand years, brought us to this point: cookie clicker. it is the best game you'll ever play, if not the best thing you'll experience.

A soothing experience where the balance is almost perfect. You play the game on the edge of resources (in default difficulties) and always on the brink of a collapse. If you get the mechanics right, your choices lead you to survival. Also the soundtrack, the city building mechanics make sure that you play a refined RTS experience. Re-playability is also seems satisfactory. Even if it's just the main scenario (where it takes 8-9 hours of gametime) or further scenarios, you will quit the game sated.

Update, September 2026: Still not worth it. Simulation still is a fake one, and the painting aspects have become a bloatware. Do not buy. There are plenty of other games that do both better.

Boring if you play solo, it may be fun if you play with friends, but still; “may be”. The game was a hype train back then, so save your money. There are lots of fun games you can spend your money on.
