Awful unpolished mess of a game

Free weekend review

After the initial disappointment of the intro races (and major toning down the driving assists) I was pleasantly surprised the game had a lot of elements from the earlier games I liked. I've progressed up to level 30 during the day and things were ok for the most part, only crashing once. The driving model isn't anything special and it gives off the simcade vibe but I like games like that.

At the end of the day I was trying to run one specific race and it kept throwing me out of it due to synchronization errors. Decided to ignore it and just do other things.

The next day I tried to continue but something was off, load times were longer when going from the hotel to the lobby and when trying to get out and drive the game would get stuck on the loading screen and I had to manually kill it. This repeated several times, even after verifying integrity a couple of times and deleting certain DUMMY.DAT & DUMMYS.DAT files that some other people said solved their problem.

I'm just happy I didn't pay for this as I'm just going to remove this bloat (100GB) off my PC

An interesting take on competitive football with fun mechanics and really easy to pick up. Growing pains of multiplayer games notwithstanding, looks like a great game for football lovers. Monetization strategy seems to be solid for now. Better with friends in comms, definitely

Buggy game (got stuck a few times on a penalty because the ball did not spawn), awful AI, RNG tackles that favor the AI, OP goalkeepers and simplistic offside mechanics.
What should have been a beautiful pixelart game and a return to simpler times in a modern engine is an unsatisfying and infuriating rough gem.

A very chill and relaxing game that ramps in complexity as you near the end, makes you think and feels very satisfying when you execute your planned build. There is no rush, no need for perfection, build and enjoy.

Incompatible with ISO/ABNT keyboards, can't change keybinding for tricks.

Also can't change keybinding before the tutorial, had to splay my fingers on my QWERTZ layout.

Shame, because I usually like these types of games

Fun and relatively short, easy to play and moderately masterable.
Graphics are beautiful, aesthetic is great. Nostalgia inducing
Traffic and later races are highly luck dependent.
Winning against the final boss requires cheesing.

A positive experience in total

Interesting premise, nice aesthetic but very lacking in content and effort.
Highly repetitive gameplay, not challenging at all.
Achievements are the only reason to push your time in this game over two hours (three for all of them).

Only buy for a massive discount if you enjoy the aesthetic

Probably the most bang for buck game I've ever played. Simple, addicting and very fun. Lots of things to unlock, so far constantly updated with new things.
Controls are simple, all you need to do is move your character (and choose items after levelling, orient yourself depending on your weapons' trajectories).
One full play is around 30 minutes, though at first you won't survive that long

In short, very fun
