This is probably the best videogame for a hardcore gamer that has gotten older and now has responsibilities. It’s perfect because you can get your daily dose of dopamine, without wasting time.

You can go outside to do stuff, and then come back to see that you have made trillions of cookies. I specially like that the developer sells an autocliker as a bundle, I 100% recommend it. It’s very fun to automate the whole process, for the OCD people put there, it makes you feel like you are progressing as much as possible, and you don’t even have to pay attention to the PC because the whole process is automated

Está bien chido, como otros roguelikes, existe la posibilidad de romper el juego y volverte fortísimo, hay muchos finales posibles, lo recomiendo

Early Access Review
This game is very good, it does precisely what every small studio should do, they simplyfy the tower defense/rts gameplay to it´s most basic form, strips everything unnecesary and you get a fun and minimalist game. Altough there are plenty of upgrades to chose from, minimalist does not mean it´s simple, because you got a lot of upgrades and sinergies betwen them, there are plenty of options.

it´s very adictive, you want to keep playing to see what you will discover the next mission and to unlock new things.

There are only 6 maps + 1 tutorial map + 1 endless more (that reuses the previous maps) it just needs more maps tbh, but I understand that it´s early access, I´d say it´s worth the price

UPDATED REVIEW JULY / 27 / 2025

This review is very long, because it contains my old review, and feedback for the Devs, opefully they will read it. for everyone else, you don´t need to read the whole thing.

I am not sure how to feel about the new update, like the other reviews say, they basically removed most of the roguelike aspects of the game and transformed many of the bonuses that you used to randomly get into a skill tree. So basically years after they launched the game, they transformed it from a roguelike into an RPG dungeon crawler. Before, it was exciting because each run was different, you could have a very bad run, with crap items and boons without synergy, or you could have a very good run, getting super powerful boons that had sinergy between them.

There was some linear progression between each game, but it was very balanced, it gave you a sense of progresion and still left room for the roguelike aspects of the game. The only progression that you got between games was upgrading your weapon (which would upgrade your base damage) and increase the chances of getting higher tier loot and boons. After the update, the progresion system is similar to what it used to be. But they substantially nerfed the boons and pieces of gear.

The problem is that this completely removed the exciting aspect of the game, for example, for the mage character, before, you could find an anvil to upgrade your weapon, and it was a very exciting moment because you could get some busted upgrades like trowing 3 fireballs (at a reduced damage) instead of just 1, or increasing the fireball explosion radius for the fire book. And for the electricity book, you could get an upgrade that made your lightning charged attack strike twice, or and upgrade that increased your damage if you struck the same target repeatedly. And if you were lucky, you could combine these upgrades to be crazy powerful. But now they moved these upgrades to the linear progression, making it so you can have these upgrades all the time, but now you can´t combine them and can equip only 1 of them. Now the upgrades that you get from the anvil are crap like "when hitting a charge attack, gives you a 2% chance to get all your energy back"

Another nerf was the boons, before, you could get boons that added damage multiplicatively, for example one boon would straight up upgrade your damage, another one would increase the damage from charged attacks, another one would increase your magical damage, a different one would increase the final damage that enemies receive. This, along with the anvil upgrades, made you deal tons of damage if you got the correct boons, because they would multiply each other. This made the boons very exciting. But now, there are probably half the amount of boons that you could get before, and they are way less exciting. They had to nerf the boons because with the upgrades that you already get from the skill tree, you´d be absolutely broken if they had kept the same boons.

They basically removed the interesting part of the game, now it´s just a mindless RPG dungeon crawler that gets boring very fast.

POSITIVE THINGS ABOUT THE UPDATE

Not everything was bad, they added a bunch of cool features, Now you can equip whatever primary and secondary weapon you want, before you would only have 1 magic book and the mele weapons, and now you can equip 2 books. Altought some characters like the mage are clearly made to be used with magical weapons, so being able to select the mele weapons is basically irrelevant.

They also added synergy between different types of magic, for example if you deal fire damage to an enemy that has been electrified, or viceversa, you get a critical strike. or if you deal fire damage to an enemy with the cold status effect or viceversa, it reduces their damage output. This is interesting because before, dealing fire, ice or electric damage meant very little.

BUGS AND EXPLOITS

Not only is the new gameplay less exciting, but the change to the new system introduced a bunch of exploits and unbalances.

1.- I am not sure if this is a bug or what, but I was receiving gold (highest rarity) trinkets all the time, very rarely if ever I got a purple (epic) rarity trinket. This was happening even tho my trinkets were not fully upgraded, and some of them were at level 1, and I still got the gold version of them constantly. This might be a bug, it might happen because I had played the game before the update and some of my trinkets were upgraded.

2.- For the "unbalanced" part of the update, there are 2 in particular that I want to mention. Let me explain, there is a boon that you can randomly get that reduces the cost in the store by 50% there is a trinket that you can equip that reduces the cost by a further 50%, and there is another trinket that makes you earn 50% more gold. So there is an exploit where you would buy trinkets in the store at 25% of the original cost. Then you recycle it in the gold statue and you would get more gold than what it cost you, furthermore, if you equip the 50% more gold trinket when recycling, you can get lots of gold basically for free. The only limit is that the store is limited to a certain amount of items and refreshing it costs 10k gold, but with just 30-40k gold, you can buy every single boon in one single run using this trick, making you overpowered. Furthermore you can add passive stats to your gear. for example I could get a 400% extra critical damage by buying dozens of upgrades before I ran out of money. And killing the final boss was a breeze.

Another unbalanced aspect of the new gameplay is that there is a boon that makes enemies have a 30% chance to drop glyphs (the currency that you use to upgrase your characther between games) and there is now a trinket that makes you earn 5 glyphs for each one that you grab. So In a single game, you can enter a room with infinite enemies, farm for a while, and when you end the mission you can have thousands of glyphs, and you can upgrade your character to full in a single run. Besides, this currency is shared between characters, so you can farm with your max level mage, then select your rogue and upgrade him to full in a moment.

RECOMENDATIONS FOR THE DEVS

Make the new progression system a new game mode, (For example in Vermintide 2, there is a roguelike game mode, and a linear progression gamemode)

Make it so you can select the debufs that you get when playing in mythical dificulty, like in Hades

OLD REVIEW AUGUST / 1 / 2024

it´s a decent game, but it´s an indie so don´t expect it to be very polished. I like that there are different clases and each one has different weapons and different hability upgrades, honestly this was my favorite part of the game, feels like they put a ton of effort in giving you variety

The maps can be a little repetitive as there are only 3 types of themes, one for each chapter, ancient jungle ruins, creepy castle dungeons (my favorite) and pristine castle, each chapter has 3 missions. I have been playing for 11 hours and I got to the final boss of the game, but I didn´t beat it, it feels like a huge difficulty spike, if you got a decent build you can beat the level but then when you get to the boss you die. By the way I have been playing mostly solo, and also, keep in mind that once you beat each level, you unlock increasing dificulties, and you have plenty of things to upgrade, so there is replayability there.

As with any other rogelike, you can create a busted build for example you can increase your base damage, then your modifier damage and then the damage that you deal to enemies. Damage goes up exponentially

Imma be honest there are better games out there for 30 bucks, I think that the vermintide series is miles ahead if we are talking about a coop dungeon crawler, the gameplay there is much more tight and polished, but then again, we are talking about an indie game.

(I wrote this exact review in the electric upgrade dlc, I am just going to post it here to improve the like ratio). Okey so, I don´t tend to write reviews, but this time I felt obliged to do it, the dev just works so hard to make fortify up to date, the base game is ultra cheap and the dlc too, and honestly he doesn´t deserve a single negative review, he is a solo developer and the fact that everything works so flawlesly it´s just amazing, for sure you will find a couple of small bugs here and there, but you can mention it in the discord and it will get fixed super fast, this guy is just incredible and I am writing a positive review because I saw that the reviews are mixed and I can´t stand that at all, I see the other reviews nitpicking and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about mundane things, which, by the way, will get fixed really fast after you have mentioned it, can´t we just apreciate the work that the developer is puting into this game even tho he is probably not making much money because it´s ultra cheap? can we not accept that he is a single indie developer and that some bugs will be present? buy the game and the dlc too, it´s ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great, it´s the ultimate tool available to make super cool and ultra efficient bases in rust, after you have created your base in the game you can try it out in a creative server.

Peace out

Very cool game, I enjoyed the previous game, "tower of guns" so I bought this one. I specially like the art style, the first few levels seem a little bit bland in my opinion, but then, once you enter a new area where there are neon lights everywhere the game becomes super beautifull. I didn´t like the weapon building system at first, but once I unlocked a few parts I started seeing why it´s so cool, you can literally build a gun that has 40 guns in it, and I love one shoting the hole room using an overpowered weapon, the characters are not incredible, but they are good, they are fun and not cringy most of the time, and overall it´s a very silly and funny story like in tower of guns (for example, the main enemy, the "mothergunship" beliebes you are the pizza delivery guy, in a spaceship, delivering pizza to an AI that doesn´t eat, I found that hilarious XD). Lastly, the overall dificulty is great, not too hard, not too easy (keep in mind I am still at the starter levels). I recomend this little game, it´s fun, and relaxing, and I´v seen people saying that after 40h the story still continues, so I think it´s worth it. you just have to grind the first 2 hours of the game, that are not that fun because you haven´t unlocked anything
