Kotama and Academy Citadel is great plain Metroidvania without any over exegerated systems or mechanics, which focuses on great combat and decent plattforming.
The Story is decent enough but a great motivation for exploring.
Exploration is best designed aspect, the game wants AND supports you to achive the 100% unlocks.
The fights offer cool mechanics and even better visuals.

This game is just a great complete package without major flaws of a plain metroidvania.
And plain in this meaning is a compliment and not something negative.
Sometimes less is more.

I really hope to see more of the developers!

A good story about the tales of youth and the responsibility of adults to guide the new generation, it also features many cute and funny characters.

If you like Souls-Borne Games, don't buy this.
This Game is way too stressfull that you don't actually have time to have fun with your friends.
You are constantly under way too much stress for 45 Minutes where you are mostly mad at everything instead of being impressed.
Runs do not feel rewarding.
Mechanics where you are punished because you can have 360° view of everything and it steals your progress in your run.
Bosses are mostly just "haha let me nuke the f**** arena again.
You can not really try the Boss again, because you have a 45 Minute runback to the Boss and if you die, you can do it again.
The whole idea of being persistent and showing resilience is gone.
The RNG is such huge change in difficulty, that runs can be completly f*****.
You can not even get creative in how you solve things, you are just f*****

Anothing funny thing, the game recommands you elemants to use a mechanic in a boss to make it easier.
Funny enough, IT IS ALSO RNG IF YOU GET EVEN A CHANCE TO GET THE RIGHT ELEMENT.

I could type here for another 20 Minutes, but TLDR i am dissapointed in fromsoftware.
The Rougue Like Genre and Souls Games could have been so good combined.
But the made it way too stressfull, punishing, unreasonable.

I expected more from Fromsoft, especially the B Team remembering Dark Souls 2, the best Dark Souls Game.

Edit from the survey:
It's too stressful. You're constantly sprinting until the end of the second day without even being able to take a break to stream the game to a friend on Discord. You don't have time to look at details or, for example, understand what's happening or what you're supposed to do during the surprise event of the Locust Plague. The random event against the Augur water boss, which flies, often teleports you out of mines, which steals your progress.
You often can't find recommended weapons.
You don't know how the weapons scale when you find them, and it's hard to decide if they're good for your character. Why does the ghost's starting weapon do magic damage when it scales with faith? Boss attacks that deal damage with a shout usually feel disproportionately strong. Overall, it's difficult to recognize when and how a boss attacks. You can't practice the Night Lords without having done the previous two days. The Night Lords have attacks that are simply global to the arena, and you can't defend yourself against them. The game doesn't feel rewarding because, unlike Elden Ring, you can't make permanent progress. The Nightlord bosses give you too few opportunities to attack and heal. The ratio of how long a boss can perform a combo is disproportionate compared to how long a player can perform actions.

Have been using Krita for years.
Bought it on steam to support the devs and for the funny time tracking.
