EDIT: Lots of stuff I mentioned here has been improved upon in the latest update. Dev is clearly working hard and is listening to feedback.

Game is super fun and can't wait for the full version, but still needs a decent amount of work to AI in-match. Not only do they need advanced work to tactics and positioning, but players also make simple mistakes like running into teammates molotov's, saving on last round, etc... fundamentals that shouldn't be going wrong. Teams run defaults but don't fight for any map control anywhere - both sides mostly sit still after getting to positions before the execute, and there is hardly any fights before a full execute and it's usually a 5v5 because for some reason the CT's start rotating the instant the execute comes out. Balance of players seems a bit off as well, especially AWPers. I am watching FaZe vs Pain and NQZ/Broky have 40 kills each.
Despite the criticism for the AI, I believe the UI is polished and well constructed, and as a CS nerd I am very excited for the games full release.

Also, I'm all for fun simulation scenarios and I'm not looking for "hyper realism", but it's pretty ridiculous that I start a new save and every Vitality player gets transferred within seven days. Some transfers are cool and expected but having so many kinda eliminates the whole purpose of playing against the current scene.

Amazing story, great performances (apart from Freya, she was a meh character for me), combat is fluid and I really enjoyed the RPG elements/progression. The world and landscapes are incredible to look at and the cutscenes are straight from a movie and integrate seamlessly with the game. There's almost no loading and it runs fine on my mid tier PC, it's a great port overall. I really enjoyed exploring with Atreus and Mimir, and it feels pretty rewarding to work your way towards 100%. The world they've built here and they way they've interpreted/rewritten the Norse mythology and tied it in with the original GoW trilogy is really interesting and sets up great seeds for a sequel. Enemy variety is lacking slightly, Muspelheim and Niflheim get boring kinda quick. Dark Elves ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blow fat gorilla ♥♥♥♥.

I would say I've completed about half of It Takes Two at this point and even if the game finished right now I would say I got my money's worth. If you have a dedicated friend to play this with, pick it up and you will have a blast with it.

The gameplay is the main pull of the game, and it is very well done. Pretty much every level has a new dynamic/weapon and this keeps the game fresh and fun all the way through. The platforming is the main feature in the gameplay and it is done pretty well. The movements feel responsive and fluid. There is a lot, and I mean, A LOT, of platforming. So if that's not for you, then maybe steer clear.

The visuals are my favorite part about the game. The set pieces they were able to come up with are really something new and interesting. Every new place you walk into is alive, everything is moving around and it really gives you that sense of being really tiny.

The story is the weakest part of the game, so far anyways. None of the characters in this game are really likable, to be honest. But we did have fun making fun of the corny jokes and questionable voice acting at times.

At the end of the day, this game is fun. If you have a friend who can play(for FREE btw!), then I would pick it up. I think it's worth $40 considering only one person needs to buy the game.

8/10
