It is a decent explorer, crafting game. I feel that the survival aspect of the game gives too much anxiety, and prevent a calm and posed exploration of the world. It's the same old trope: you're afflicted with a deadly disease and your time is limited (it's not), but not just you, all your people will die if you don't succeed (they might). Thing is, contrary to the game's narrative you don't have to hurry.

But what is anxiety inducing is more about the constant need to feed a hydrate yourself. You can't really stop your journey and start reading the glossary, as your precious resources (food) are dwindling and perishing. Thanksfully, there is a "difficulty" setting that lowers the rate at which the food meter ticks down. Sadly, your perishable stuff will continue to rot until you find a freezer.

it's a bit sad that they went for the survival aspect, we are not given a proper opportunity to contemplate the core idea behind the game: humany screwed everything and bumbled up in space, only to be afflicted by a disease whose cure can only be found on earth. There are bits of logs and stories you can find, but hardly any time to read them because, again: FOOD IS RUNNING OUT.
