Hey, I'm new!
Posted byCurrent Mood:
rejuvenated
Current Music: Songs: Ohia
Age: 19, almost 20.
Living In: Gainesville, Fl.
Hobbies/Interests: Veganism, nutrition, cooking, music anddddd...well, you know...
Occupation/Student Of: I work at the Phillip's Center for Performing Arts working in the Artist Relations dept. which means I set up green rooms for the performers, during intermission I serve booze to rich people who donate money to us, and feed the crew(and a bunch of other crap I don't feel like typing). I also go to school at Santa Fe College majoring in Agriculture and Food Sciences so I can hopefully be an Nutritionist helping kill the stupid USDA "regulations" and making children's lunches and minds healthier. It all starts with children! This shit has got to stop! No more obesity! No more children dying before their parents!
Vegan, Vegetarian, Other? Vegan and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Any food allergies? I think I am allergic to Bunny-Luv organic carrots. I called them to ask wtf they used on their carrots...Ans: BLEACH. How organic.
How long have you been veg*n? A year in April.
What made you go veg/interested in veg? I was always interested in natural eating type things, and then my brother's girlfriend went vegan from reading the book "Skinny Bitch." A few months later I read it and never went back.
Favorite Veg-friendly Restaurant In Your Town: There's so many! Gyro's Plus(fafafel, plz!) and The Top!
Favorite Place to Grocery Shop In Your Town: Definitely Ward's. If you don't live here, lemme tell you about it--Family owned grocery store, it does sell meat but its designed so if you don't want to walk past the meat isle you don't have to, and there's tons of fresh and organic produce; most of it is locally grown! The discount carts are to die for, once I got an organic pineapple for 99cents!
Best Thing About Being Veg: Lookin' fabulous :-* and saving the world :)
Worst Thing About Being Veg: Omnis?
What veg*n related item have you been unable to find in your city? I haven't really had a problem, Gainesville is so liberal and awesome.
Veg*n item/food you can't live without? Green beans or corn. That shit's delish!
Favorite Veg*n Cookbook: Anything by Isa.
Favorite Veg*n Blogs/Websites: Fatfreevegan.com
Anything Else You'd Like To Share: If you didn't know, Paul Newman's chocolate "O" cookies(basically oreos) are vegan! Oh, and I've lived in Gainesville all my life.
