Trump ally Steve Bannon must surrender to prison by July 1 to start contempt sentence, judge says

Steve Bannon, a longtime ally of former President Donald Trump, must report to prison by July 1 to serve his four-month sentence for defying a subpoena from the House committee that investigated the U.S. Capitol insurrection, a federal judge ruled Thursday.

U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols in Washington granted the Justice Department’s request to make Bannon begin his prison term after a federal appeals court panel last month upheld his contempt of Congress conviction.

Bannon is expected to seek a stay of the judge’s order, which could delay his surrender date.

EXCLUSIVE: A video obtained by 60 Minutes shows a man the FBI says had ties to Saudi intelligence referencing a "plan" two years before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks – raising questions about Saudi assistance to the hijackers and planners. While the 9/11 Commission report two decades ago found that al-Qaeda acted alone, the victims' families are disputing this, citing the video from outside the U.S. Capitol and other evidence in a lawsuit.

For more than two decades, the U.S. position has been that al Qaeda acted alone on September 11th, but a newly public video has raised questions about whether the Saudi government provided crucial assistance to the hijackers during the 9/11 terror attacks.

Omar al-Bayoumi, whom the FBI says was an operative of the Saudi intelligence service with close ties to two of the 9/11 hijackers, can be heard on the video, which was unsealed in federal court this week and obtained by 60 Minutes. The 1999 video was taken within 90 days of the time when senior al Qaeda planners were deciding on 9/11 targets, Richard Lambert, a retired FBI agent who led the initial 9/11 investigation in San Diego, said.

"It is another very large brick in a massive wall of evidence that at this point indicates the Saudi government was complicit in the 9/11 attacks," Lambert said.

U.S. citizens don’t have a constitutional right to bring their noncitizen spouses into the U.S., the Supreme Court has ruled.

The court, in a 6-3 ruling on Friday, reaffirmed Congress’s broad power to set immigration limits and the executive branch’s role in carrying out those orders in deciding who can come.

The justices had previously ruled that a would-be migrant lacks the constitutional right to challenge those decisions, and it now ruled that U.S. citizens don’t have the right, either.

BREAKING🚨: Judge dismisses Nevada fake electors case over lack of jurisdiction

A Clark County judge has dismissed the charges filed against the six Nevada Republicans who submitted an invalid slate of electoral votes for former President Donald Trump in 2020 on the grounds that the county was not the appropriate jurisdiction for the case.

At a Friday morning hearing in Clark County District Court, Judge Mary Kay Holthus said she was unconvinced by state prosecutors’ arguments that Clark County was the appropriate county to hear the case. The electors’ attorneys had argued a more appropriate venue would be in Carson City, where the false signing ceremony took place, or in Douglas County, where the fake elector documents were originally mailed from.

Clark County is more Democratic, meaning a jury could be less favorable to the Republican defendants.

Those who believe Trump ever pushed unconstitutional rhetoric are either willful bad actors or simply lack the intelligence to be worth anything to the truth/MAGA movement.
