Jim Jordan investigates Jack Smith's latest Trump indictment, alleges it breaks '60-day rule'

House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Friday demanding documents, communications, and other information regarding the superseding indictment filed by special counsel Jack Smith against Donald Trump on August 27, and whether Garland personally approved of the indictment.

Jordan noted that the Supreme Court issued their presidential immunity opinion on July 1 "explaining the parameters of presidential immunity and rebuking Special Counsel Jack Smith for violating this Constitutional principle in his political prosecution of President Donald J. Trump," the letter, obtained by the Daily Caller, stated.

Michael Jackson's bodyguard has revealed his thoughts on the singer's child sex abuse allegations and what he thinks really killed the King of Pop.

Bill Whitfield said the legendary singer, who would have turned 66 yesterday, was 'sad a lot' before his death in 2009 after he had come away from facing a set of serious trials.

Speaking to The Sun, Jackson's former and latest bodyguard revealed the popstar was hurt by the serious allegations being made against him, and said 'he would never hurt a child, this isn't the man I knew'.

Bill had become Jackson's bodyguard in 2006, but after spending countless hours with Jackson and becoming a 'very good friend', the security pro said he believed that if the claims had been true, the situation would have revealed itself.

He admitted to paying close attention to the star's actions and behaviors, and after reading stories of the allegations, would even watch how Jackson interacted with children. 

After working with the pop icon for several years, Bill finally came to believe that the accusations carried no weight.

'It wasn't his character. You had to be around him to know him and I was there. So no, that wasn't him. And so it just still surprises me when I hear things like that,' he told the newspaper.

President Donald Trump's latest effort to delay the upcoming sentencing in his criminal hush money case has hit a snag.

A day after Trump's attorneys asked a federal court in New York to remove the case from state court, the court on Friday rejected their filing as "deficient," a notice on the court's docket said.

According to the notice, the filing was sent back in part because the attorneys failed to include written permission from either the court or prosecutors.

In a separate letter to Judge Juan Merchan, the New York judge overseeing the case, Trump's lawyers flagged their attempt to move the case to federal court while continuing to urge Merchan to delay the sentencing, which is currently scheduled for Sept. 18.

"There is no good reason to sentence President Trump prior to November 5, 2024, if there is to be a sentencing at all, or to drive the post-trial proceedings forward on a needlessly accelerated timeline relative to the manner in which similar issues are being addressed by the Special Counsel's Office and the Department of Justice," defense attorneys Todd Blanche and Emil Bove wrote.
