A Republican-led House committee reviewing the work of the House select committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol has released a report Republicans say disputes a piece of testimony delivered by one of the panel's star witnesses, Cassidy Hutchinson, during her 2022 testimony.

In the report, first obtained by ABC News, the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight says a handwriting analyst, who the committee retained, determined that a note Hutchinson testified she had written for then-President Donald Trump to read during the attack on the Capitol was actually written by then-White House lawyer Eric Herschmann.

During Hutchinson's testimony in June 2022, Rep. Liz Cheney displayed a handwritten note that Hutchinson testified she wrote after her boss, Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, handed her a note card and pen to take his dictation. The note, containing a potential statement for Trump to release, read, "Anyone who entered the Capitol illegally without proper authority should leave immediately" -- with the word "illegally" crossed out.

Following Hutchinson's testimony, ABC News reported that Herschmann had come forward to claim that the note was written by him during a meeting at the White House, and not by Hutchinson.

Holder’s National Democratic Redistricting Committee is trying to fundamentally shift power away from the democratically elected voices of the people and toward a small unaccountable group that’s elected by no one.

Under Issue 1’s byzantine procedures, ex-judges and an outside recruitment firm would draw up a list of 45 supposedly non-partisan applicants for a new 15-member redistricting panel.

They can pretend to be shocked, but the American people understand it and that’s why DJT has more support than ever. The politicians who have raped and pillaged the American people for decades, truly are the enemy of the enemy of the people.

It appears they understand that when Trump wins, the party is over.

Toxicology test results are providing some insight into Liam Payne's tragic death last week.

A partial autopsy found that the former One Direction singer, who died at 31, had multiple substances in his system when he fell to his death from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Oct. 16, sources tell ABC News. Those substances included "pink cocaine" – a recreational drug that typically is a mix of several drugs including methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA and others – as well as cocaine, benzodiazepine and crack. An improvised aluminum pipe to ingest drugs was also found in his hotel room, according to the sources.

Payne's body will remain in Argentina until the autopsy is complete, the sources also told ABC News.

Prior to Payne's death, hotel officials called authorities and asked them to "send someone with urgency" due to a guest they said was "drunk with drugs and alcohol."

"We need to send someone with urgency because I don't know if the guest's life is in danger because he is in a room with balcony, and we are afraid he could do something that threatens life," the worker told emergency services.

The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a bid by Michael Cohen to sue President Trump for allegedly retaliating against him by sending Cohen back to prison from home confinement over a tell-all book that criticized Trump.

The court's decision to turn away Cohen's appeal leaves intact a lower court ruling that tossed out the lawsuit based on a 2022 Supreme Court decision that limited citizens' ability to seek monetary damages from federal officials over constitutional violations.

❗️Nathan Wade admitted to multiple White House meetings during Trump Georgia probe, transcript suggests

Former Fulton County special prosecutor Nathan Wade met with Biden administration staff on at least two occasions during District Attorney Fani Willis' probe into former President Donald Trump, a newly released transcript suggests.

Wade was interviewed by House Judiciary Committee staff last week as part of Chairman Jim Jordan's probe into the prosecutions of the former president.

A grand jury indicted Trump and allies last year on charges related to alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia.

Wade did not disclose the details of his supposed meetings with White House representatives, including if they were in-person or remote, but he acknowledged the existence of invoices and other records that indicated discussions occurred.

At one point, the transcript shows Wade was asked about an invoice line indicating "travel to Athens; conf with White House counsel, May 23rd, 2022."
