Lawyers for Prince Andrew have written to a US judge to demand a jury trial in a civil lawsuit brought by a woman who has accused him of sexual assault.

Virginia Giuffre, 38, alleges that he sexually assaulted her when she was a teenager at the homes of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

The Duke of York has denied all the allegations against him.

In the court documents, his legal team submitted several reasons why they believe the case should be dismissed.

The 11-page document states that Prince Andrew "admits that he met Epstein in or around 1999" but denies that he participated in any abuse.

Anyone care to take a stab at how many criminals (what percentage) involved in committing crimes will have insurance on the gun they use? I'm going to go out on a limb and predict it will be laughably infinitesimal by comparison.

Oh, and last I checked people have been, and will continue to be, fiscally liable if they act outside the law. And that applies to EVERYONE ALL THE TIME already. I mean, it's not like gun owners couldn't be taken to court before.

In fact, this (amongst any other number of possible problems one could run into) is exactly why many people carry insurance protection like a PLUP (Personal Liability Umbrella Policy). Heck, many voluntarily carry extra insurance specifically for firearm related matters already, but that's a matter of personal responsibility and not something the Govt needs to be involved with.

The truth is that none of this is about actual 'gun safety'. Instead, this is all about accumulating additional power & control over free, law-abiding citizens exercising their rights. Well that and the powers that be hope to make it such a pain (and cost so much) to own a firearm that the average person will give them up leaving them defenseless and entirely dependent of the Govt for protection.

Oh, and can someone please remind me of another enumerated right (actually explicitly listed in the Constitution) that we have to have a license and insurance to use? Thanks in advance.
