Good morning from Jomtien. Today is the last day before a four day holiday weekend for most Thais due to religious holidays. This also means government offices, like Immigration, are closed tomorrow and Friday. As for alcohol sales bans, they will be allowed at registered entertainment venues in entertainment zones in Pattaya amongst some other exceptions, but may not apply in other areas and best to check locally. This could also change based on local officials.

As a note the new rules for alcohol sales on religious holidays don't include grocery or convenience stores so you may want to stock up if it's an issue.

This weekend should be busy for Pattaya especially with domestic tourists.

Be safe everyone and have a good holiday weekend.

Pattaya doesn't see as many city events next month but will see some major happenings. The biggest city event will be the Pattaya Marathon mid month which will bring tens of thousands of runners to Pattaya and also bring temporary road closures and traffic detours.

Not listed but very important is the two day religious holiday on July 10th and 11th nationwide which is a four day weekend for many Thais and should see many domestic tourists in Pattaya. Alcohol sales bans will take place in non entertainment zones but it is likely once again Pattaya is able to sell.

Finally, His Royal Majesty the King has his birthday on July 28th. Long live the King! This, along with the religious holidays, are national holidays and government offices, like Immigration, will be closed.

The Pattaya Night Run is tonight. There will be road closures around the Pratumnak Hill portion of the parks, lighthouse, Buddha Hill, etc from 6-830. This is also expected to cause confusion and traffic delays in other parts of Pratumnak. Plan in advance and avoid this area for through traffic during the event.

Local elections (and a religious holiday) are upcoming this weekend in Chonburi (and indeed most of Thailand). Election day is Sunday May 11th, and due to election law bars and alcohol sales are expected to be shut down around 5-6 PM Saturday night through Sunday. Official letters and announcements, however, have not yet gone out as of press time.
