April 1st is moving day!

So it's off to a new apartment! (ours is the bottom floor plan) After much money  and time spent on travelling to and from school, much stress over living in the dark and trying to keep quiet so our landlord won't be annoyed... well, we've finally done something about it. Now, instead of living in a basement apartment, we'll be on the 22nd floor of a building! We'll have reception on our telephones and our television antennae! We'll have hardwood floors. We'll have no "shared area". We'll have a bedroom with a door. We'll have closets! The place is pretty much soundproof so we can play are music as loud as we want and whenever we want to. There are no restrictions on having guests over, so we'll always be able to have company. We're allowed to paint the apartment, to hang up shelves and paintings. To decorate it any way that we desire, and with much more manageable space to do it in. Hell, we have a sunken livingroom. How cool is that?  The landlord will not be so personal, will not expect us to socialize or go to bed at a reasonable time or take out the garbage. We'll have a garbage shoot. We'll have a balcony! Our own little outdoor space where we can sit together and read in the summer nights! Where I can oilpaint! Only one bus will take us to the main subway line. There's a grocery store across the street and a convenience store in our building.

The best part? We're a short walk from school! This means:
1) Access to the Library, and the SMIL (sound and moving image library) so we can borrow free books and movies whenever we want to.
2) Access to the gym, so I can do my workouts on a regular basis.
3) Access to the studio, so I can work on my projects outside of class more easily.
4) Close proximity to all of my York friends, so it's easier to get together with them spontaneously, and so D&D has a more comfortable meeting place.
5) Close proximity to classes so we can sleep in an hour later, so we don't have to depend on busses being punctual, so that if we forget something, we'll be able to go back and get it.
6) During that long period between the morning class and the afternoon one, we can go home and have lunch instead of wandering aimlessly.
7) We won't ever have to worry about spending money on campus food... we can always just walk home and grab something.
8) Access to the pubs.
9) Access to the printers of William Small and the Tel Building.
10) FREEDOM!

So, basically... I am one happy camper, and so is my man. What a great way to start fresh.
