- Today was my last day at Amazon/AWS. After 12+ years in total I've decided to take on a new adventure and will be starting my new gig in a few weeks. No badge on laptop photos, no Day 1 quotes. It's been a lot of a lot and im grateful to friends along the way. Cheers!!
- for those following along at home: health.aws.amazon.com/health/status went from ~77 services impacted, to 95. we're 9+ hours in. I've never seen this before.
- ✅ After a bit more than 4.5 years, tomorrow will be my last day leading Developer Advocacy for #serverless at @awscloud. I'll be staying at AWS and taking on a new role starting next week. 🧵1/
- 🆕 It's Day 1 for me again at @awscloud. I'm starting today as Tech Lead/Advisor for the Startup Solution Architecture team, focused on the Americas. The title is squishy, but essentially im on point for tough customer technical challenges and helping peers doing the same 1/
- I think one of the biggest lies we tell ourselves in IT/tech is that we need to prepare for "scale" of traffic. Generally speaking 99% of apps never break 1000 rps. Even with that you can likely serve millions of active users in a month. 1/
- Coming up on the 4 year anniversary of the preview announcement of #AWSLambda here at @awscloud and put together this small snapshot of what the team has delivered over the past 4 years. tl;dr: its a lot. #serverless
- 🎉 Becoming a Principal at @awscloud was one of my proudest career moments. Being able to help promote @edjgeek and @jbesw to Principal recently maybe slightly beats it. Congrats gents! You have done incredible things for the world of #serverless! Proud to have you as peers! 🎉
- Security is incredibly important to us at @awscloud and the #serverless team. I am excited to share a newly published doc that should help explain in depth how security is handled for #awsLambda - Security Overview of AWS Lambda - d1.awsstatic.com/whitepapers/Ov…
- Haters gonna hate. I see a full app architecture where i don’t manage a single server or OS or container, have metrics/monitoring/loggging built in, and with deny by default/fine grained security throughout. Oh and it costs me pennies when not in use and scales automatically. 👍🏻Crying at this typical Serverless infrastructure. wtf happened to the "simple" functions-as-a-service idea?
- can't make this up. An accident on Route 53... a highway.. not @awscloud Route53, has caused an internet outage in NJ...Alert: A car accident on Route 53 caused a loss of services for some Optimum customers in the Parsippany, NJ area. Our crews are working to restore service as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.
- We're launching support for 3 new runtime versions today in #awsLambda: Java 11, Node.js 12.x, and Python 3.8! Happy Hacking!! #serverless aws.amazon.com/blogs/compute/… aws.amazon.com/blogs/compute/… aws.amazon.com/blogs/compute/…
