The Lantern Initiative are a registered not for profit Community Interest Company (CIC) run by volunteers. We facilitate mental health events and workshops which are planned and delivered within a faith sensitive framework from a Muslim perspective. All of our events and workshops are additionally open to those of other faiths and none. We currently work across Peterborough, Leicester and Milton Keynes.

The Lantern Initiative

Course of 6 sessions online (Zoom) in the comfort of your own home - women only.(PLEASE NOTE YOU ARE COMMITTING TO ATTENDING ALL 6 WEDNESDAY SESSIONS 15th April to 20th May 2026)Therapeutic Qi Gong (Chi–Gong) is a form of Medical Qi Gong that was created by Chinese doctors and Professors at the University of Sports Medicine in Shanghai, China to assist healing of various ailments.Similar to Tai Chi, this therapeutic exercise is based on ancient Qi Gong and Martial Arts which focus on Qi circulation on all parts of the body in a systematic format. It is a combination of physical exercise, stretching, breathing and self-massage to help relieve illness and prevent disease. By enhancing energy and blood circulation, it accelerates the body’s healing process and longevity.This session takes you through the practice with Fatima Rasool, a qualified Qi Gong instructor, Life Coach and Unani Tibb practitionerTherapeutic Qi Gong has many health benefits such as:• Relieving stress • Increasing alertness and balance • Strengthening the body • Improving immune function • Promoting energy and blood circulation • Improving lung function • Strengthening the heart • Reducing blood pressure • Strengthening the digestive system • Reducing pain • Improving posture and flexibility • Improving muscle tone and preventing disease•A Zoom joining link will be emailed to you 2 days before the start date•Loose and comfortable clothing is recommended.•Please note that these classes are for women only.
