Hello all, im a new member here. My name is natalie and i am 16. I feel that im not apart of this decade especially because i dont fit in AT ALL with the teens of my time. I think i should have been born in the 1910's to be brought up in the 20's and 30's. Although i really enjoy blues to the most extent ever, especially the new rock blues in the 60's, i am also obsesed with swing music, dancing and the whole culture. Every friday night i go swing dancing w/ my best friend, and just feel at home. i love the fashion and the style, the music of that time was so great, especially the blues. The dancing is tastfull, unlike today where it is just dry sex, and the dancing shows personality and talent that is flamboiant and fun. Everyone is nice and care free. im not a fan of the 50's because i think that is when conservitives steped in and condemed everything that was happening, so in the 60's of course the rebellion had started. but mostly the dancing and the music, the old fashion ties to the 20's and 30's i just love. And im not talking about the rich white society, i mean in New York is where i would live, going to the underground swing clubs everynight, or out in chicago with the greatest bands jivin all night long. im glad to see that other people feel out of place in this time we live in. Unfortualnetly politics have always been bad, so cant say much there. |
