Product Description
Static Shock's second season comes supercharged with new, dangerous metahuman menaces, an array of special guest stars, and more of its unique mix of high adventure and social drama. The stakes are higher as Static gets drafted into "The Big Leagues" when the dynamic duo -- Batman and Robin -- travel to Dakota in search of The Joker (Mark Hamill). "Uncle J" to the metahumans, The Joker is wreaking his own special brand of "hilarious" havoc on the citizens of Dakota, giving Static (Phil LaMarr) the opportunity of a lifetime -- to team up with his favorite super hero! Other superstar surprises this season include Static stints from none other than hoop hall-of-famer Shaquille O'Neal (Steel, 1997) and the Backstreet Boys' A.J. McLean, on hand to lend some music-career advice to Rubberband Man. Things get a little more serious in the special episode entitled "Jimmy," which addresses the issue of gun violence in school.

Great season! But this dvd has some (very minor) weird oddities.
Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2017The first ever time ANY of these episodes have been available for purchase!
The full season 2 and at great price!
The video quality is pretty good, and I had no trouble playing these DVD-R's on my game systems or DVD player.
-----
Time for Nitpicking!
- Two random episodes from season 3 are thrown in. (3.9-"Consequences" and 3.11-"Trouble Squared")
(Likely because season 2 is the shortest at 11 episodes vs 13-14 for the other seasons)
- The cover art looks a bit less 'official' this time around! (season 1 used the original box art)
- No subtitles/cc this time around :'(
- Interlaced video (pretty standard, but the second half of season 1 was not like this)
- Video quality is a little grainier than season 1, even when compared to the second half of s1.
It's by no means a big problem, it's hardly noticeable, but it's mainly at the edge of colors, or on some darker flat colors. (Still MUCH better than vhs)
-No bonus content. (but hey, the shows's well over 12 years old, maybe they could have included the 'A League of One' short documentary?)

A Must pick up for Fans of Static Shock.
Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2017After the initial release of Season 1 of Static Shock was released on Amazon Video, fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of Season 2 for over years. When Static Shock Season 2 was finally released, fans rejoiced, finally able to reconnect with the adventures of Virgil Hawkins, a black teenager living in the city of Dakota who fights crime using his electro-magnetic powers. This Season tackles with hot button social issues such as homelessness, mental health, siblings as a bad influence, bullying and underage gun violence.
Season 2 improves on Season 1 significantly with more tense situations, moral dilemmas and a guest star or two.
Disc 1 includes the episodes of:
-The Big Leagues
-Power Play
-Brother-Sister Act
-Static Shaq
-Frozen Out
-Sunspots
-Pop's Girlfriend
-Bad Stretch
-Attack of the Living Brain Puppets
Season 2 contains the episodes of:
-Duped
-Jimmy
-Consequences
-Trouble Squared.
While the content and episodes themselves remain some of the most topical in DC's Animated library, the presentation and interface leave something to be desired. There are no subtitles, the video quality is noticeably grainier than the previous release and the menu options are little better than most bootleg DVD's.
Still, fans should easily pick this season up. I only hope DC has further plans to release seasons 3 and 4 in the near future.

Everything was good except for the second disc
Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2017Everything was good except for the second disc, not only does it have the two episodes to complete season 2 but it also has two extra episodes from season 3 that are not from the beginning. For example "Consequence" in season 3 is episode 9 and "Trouble Squared" is episode 11. Not that I would have an issue seeing Season 3 early, but it would've been nice to have episodes from the beginning instead of skipped numbers.

Worth the wait...an excellent series
Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2017Took forever (months) to arrive, but well worth the wait. A classic series and a bitter sweet reminder that the world of comics and animation lost a great when Dwayne McDuffie passed away.
Picture quality is excellent and some of the episodes are up there with Batman TAS and Justice League as they feature none other than Batman, the boy wonder and you guessed it members of the League. Well written, quality animation.
We just need DC to release the other 3 or so seasons of Static and take note that diverse superheroes (beyond Cyborg) can appeal to the masses when time and effort is spent developing them.
