First AMD GPU I've owned and ZERO regrets! AMD Value is wonderful!
Couldn't be happier, the most taxing games I've got is Metro Exodus, COD Warzone, and Beam NG, all on ultra settings I can hold a solid 100fps on a 1080p@65HZ monitor with V sync off. Turning it on gives a great game play and yes with some work you can in fact Ray Trace within the software but it takes a lot of FPS to achieve it. I wanted a 1440P@120hz card for the future and testing that on my tv with high graphic settings will hold about 85-100 in most areas of the games. Depending on what settings are on you can get it higher but this meets my goals personally as ill be stuck with 1080 for at least the next year. Either way very happy, this 5700XT equates my buddy's 1080TI in the games we play together. I haven't tried overclocking above MSI's settings yet but I'm sure it can be improved even more. This card will get warm, I suggestion changing the fan control settings to keep the fans on and moving air constantly so you don't get a stagnant air pocket around the card or worse...heat-soak. If its hot and you get a sudden demand you can thermal throttle quickly but also shorten the component life. Eventually I may water cool it but top temps I've seen with a custom fan control us like 68*C under load and 34*C at idle, where stock I noticed 80* and idle would hang around 60*. Take some time to adjust and performance will be better. I couldn't imagine the AMD stock blower cooler on this... the dual fan and shroud MSI built is a great design overall, very impressed but make sure you measure your case!!! This is a big boy card!!! Your not gonna fit this in your MATX HP pavilion without hacking the case.

I have had this GPU for 3 weeks now and wanted to write a fair review. I have to say I am super please with my purchase. Great card running titles in either 1440p ultra detail or 2160p med or high detail, and getting stable high framerates. I did have GPU crashing issues the first few days. I ran AMD's clean uninstall tool, it clears out all remnants of previous drivers. Installed clean drivers and uninstalled MSI afterburner. I have thrown every game title I have at this thing and if has been rock steady, no crashes for more than 2 weeks. Hefty, good looking card, I hit MSI for not providing a GPU support bracket. I bought one a week later, as insurance because this card is big and heavy. It oozes quality! To me I saved a nice chunk of dough over the 2070 super. Which are fantastic GPUs. I just did not want to give Nvidia what they want for one. Glad to see some competition from AMD, better for all us gamers!

I have no idea what Gamers Nexus were thinking when they gave this card the Most Average card award. First of all it's gorgeous with it's beastly mass and RGB light ( and huge )... but the card doesn't sag down at all and look ridiculous like most large cards.

Secondly, this card is basically silent. Running 3D Mark, GPU core temp hovers around 67, junction never seen above 82. The only cooling I have are 3 Corsair RGB fans in the front). Haven't seen fan speed go above 1300 RPM. Under 60 fans shut off entirely. There is also virtually no coil whine whatsoever, the most faintest buzzing can be heard, but it is just barely audible, and this is only during gaming.

My last card the 5700 XT Mech was really rough out of the box, the fan literally sounded like a hair dryer and it got HOT. Stay away from that card. I guess it can be tweaked some to fix some issues but I don't want to have to tweak something I want it to be amazing out of the box, and this Gaming X card is.

Both the Mech card and a 2060 Super I had had seriously bad coil whine. This Gaming X is hugely better. I am honestly blown away by the quality and performance of this card in every possible way.

Hats off to MSI for engineering such a badass card. Did not like the Mech variant though. Highly recommend this one.

Apart from given drivers related issues, the graphics card itself delivers in all the areas I was expecting increases in. Performance, less noise, and better heat dissipation. This card is a little pricey compared to other 5700 XT's but considering how long I own the card and how many video games I play the ROI is great for my own purposes. Go AMD!

Ill do my best to keep this about the product, despite AMD's driver issues.

So this card easily beats out all the other 5700 XT's in one way or another. The PCB is well made, the cooler is excellent. The gaming X has a 9 Phase design, only comparable to the Red Devils 10 phase PCB. And thermals.. lets talk about thermals. Almost every review has the Gaming X beating out every other and MAYBE head to head with the Nitro+ only in GPU temp. The gaming x wins hands down in thermals/noise nearly across the board. And has the lowest VRM temps 10c lower than second place. Being the nitro+ I believe. Gamers Nexus has a great review with the Gaming X/THICC/Pulse/Nitro+/Gigabyte/TaichiX side by side.

The heatsink on this thing is CHUNKY, and rightfully so to handle that 225w TDP. Its a massive improvement over the Evoke. Which imo didnt belong on a 5700 XT. If the memory temps have been fixed on it then its a great small form 5700 XT so it has its use for sure. But if the 2.5 slot design isnt an issue and length may be. This card beats out all the other longer triple fan designs. Only the nitro+ can go toe to toe with it. And it does trade some blows.

My max temps so far under load in gaming/3dmark:

      GPU:58c-63c
      MEM: 61-65
      HOTSPOT: 68-72
      VRM: 52-55

Thats with the fan profile bumped up a bit I believe my profile is 20%/50c 30%/60c 40%/65c 55%/70c. Since I use headphones fan noise doesn't bother me.

All in all no issues so far, even driver related on 20.2.2 atm. Make sure to DDU in safe mode. Then install drivers. Specially going from Nvidia to AMD.

My ONLY gripe is there only being 1 VBIOS. Personally I dont and havent ever messed with a VBIOS, never needed to. But other might. And its a safety net. Thats honestly worthy of a star since all other competitors seem to have dual bios. And from what I have read, AMD left a spot on the PCB for a dual VBIOS option. So no excuses there.

Anyway. So far so good. Kills everything I have thrown at it in 1440p

This is a great card, wonderful value for the money you pay for it. Unfortunately until AMD finally gets there heads out of you know where and gets the drivers properly functioning you may experience issues. Make sure when you get the card and install the drivers that the fans actually spin as with some versions of the drivers they will not. There are other issues as well that are typical with any new generation of video cards but this is the most concerning. As for the noise level it's not too bad at all. I dont have a noise reduction case and it sits on my desk next to my monitor but unless I'm doing some stupid overclocking its typically not that loud, especially with a custom fan curve

Overall this is a great card and well worth the price, you just need to be prepared to deal with very buggy drivers. Invest in NVME because you will be rebooting your PC a lot.

Pro: Great Performance, Thermals and Design. Getting around 50-60 fps high in Cyberpunk with a fairly stable Overclock. Temps never exceed ~85C even with overclocking.

Cons (what everyone looks at) :Very hefty and covers you CMOS and first PCI E express card. I know this because I had to remove the CMOS in order to reset BIOS. When Overclocking it is prone to crashing, and when I tried to Overclock my DDR4 RAM using XMP my system crashed and I had to remove the CMOS, which has covered by this card. It is also very heavy and flexes a little if your MOB is cheap.

I got this on Amazon Warehouse Deals for a great price. The card fans were a bit "whiny" at first but then they settled in and are now okay. I set a fan curve using MSI Afterburner and now it seems to run silent on idle. It's not the newest generation card, but it is what was available. I'm glad I purchased it when I could get it. It can run Cyberpunk 2077 on 1440p Ultrawide at about 60FPS on medium settings which is decent for that resolution. The card is really big and heavy with a 3 year warranty. It's really solid. It runs a little hot but nothing to worry about. I'm getting well over 100FPS on some games and that's on the ultrawide. Very pleased!
