Attention: Exam Registration Process During Case Management System Renovation

The Certification & Licensing Division’s examination and application portal is currently unavailable while the case management system undergoes renovations and upgrades.

To continue administering examinations at this time, the Certification and Licensing Division has established temporary registration procedures for both in-person and online examinations.

Please follow the below instructions to register for an examination:

IN-PERSON EXAM REGISTRATION PROCESS:

1. Review the 2026 in-person exam schedule and select your desired examination date.
2. Contact the Certification & Licensing Division at 602-452-3378 or [email protected] to register for your selected examination date and be added to the exam session roster.
3. Submit the examination fee by check or money order payable to the Arizona Supreme Court/Certification & Licensing Division. Exam fees can be found in the applicable fee sections of the Arizona Code of Judicial Administration (AJCA). Please note that all exam fees are nonrefundable.
4. Bring a valid photo ID to the exam session. Applicants are required to present one form of photo ID at exam check in. Exam check in will begin 30 minutes before the scheduled exam time.

ONLINE EXAM REGISTRATION PROCESS:

1. Visit cldexams.az.gov
2. Complete the registration form, including contact information, and select the exam(s) for which you are registering. 
3. Pay the applicable examination fee. A $25 proctor fee will be added to all online examination registrations. Please note that all exam fees are nonrefundable.
4. Check your email for access instructions. Instructions will be emailed to applicants within 24-28 hours after registration.

There are now two options available to complete the Legal Paraprofessional exams: in-person at the Arizona Courts Building in downtown Phoenix OR via secure, online proctoring system. Online exams can be completed on your schedule at a distraction free location of your choice.  Laptop and cell phone are required. Instructions and secure exam rules will be sent via email after registering. Please note: there is a $25 non-refundable convenience fee for the online exam, in addition to the established exam processing fees of $100 for Core and $150 each per practice area exam.  Be sure to register for the online version only when ready to actually complete the exam.

Information on the application process, along with fingerprint clearance documents, will be sent to you after successfully completing the Core and applicable Practice Area exams.  Valid fingperprint clearance is required for all Legal Paraprofessional applicants pursuant to A.R.S. 12-323(B).
