Dr. Roger Motaze currently serves as deputy director and policy analyst at the Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon, where he leads a team dedicated to assessing complex diplomatic and security challenges. With over a decade of experience, his expertise spans violent extremism, insurgency movements, maritime security, and the broader geopolitical dynamics shaping Africa’s security landscape.

In addition to his government role, Motaze is deeply involved in academia. He holds a PhD in International Relations (Conflict Resolution) and lectures at several institutions, including the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC), EIFORCES, and the Protestant University of Central Africa. His teaching and research focus on geopolitics, diplomacy, international humanitarian law, and peacebuilding across the continent.

He also contributes as an expert analyst to international think tanks, producing insights on political risk, election monitoring, and market dynamics in Africa. His book, From Political Dissidence to Extremism: A Guide on Countering Terrorism in Africa, along with his broader body of research has made a meaningful contribution to understanding contemporary security challenges on the continent.
