Hello, everyone. I am a first-year undergraduate student pursuing Computer Science and Engineering at SASTRA University (Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy), a renowned institution for higher education, particularly in engineering and technology.
Admission Process:
- Application Form:
- The application forms for various programs are available on the official SASTRA University website.
- Students can apply online or obtain the application form from designated centers.
- The application form requires personal information, academic details, and any entrance exam scores (if applicable).
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Undergraduate Programs (B.Tech):
- Completion of 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science.
- Minimum percentage in the qualifying examination (typically around 60% aggregate in PCM/B).
- JEE Main scores are considered for a portion of the seats.
- Undergraduate Programs (B.Tech):
- Admission Modes:
- Stream 1 (Based on JEE Main):
- 70% of the seats are filled based on JEE Main scores and normalized 10+2 scores.
- Stream 2 (Based on 10+2 Scores):
- 30% of the seats are filled based on normalized 10+2 scores.
- Stream 1 (Based on JEE Main):
- Rank List and Counselling:
- Rank List: Separate rank lists are prepared for Stream 1 and Stream 2.
- Counseling: Candidates are called for counseling sessions based on their ranks. The counseling schedule is published on the official website.
- Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted during the counseling sessions based on rank, choice, and availability.
My Experience: I chose Stream 2 as my intermediate score was 977/1000. I remember submitting my form on the last day as I was not updated with the dates. I missed the first session result due to an internet issue and lost my spot, which made me feel sad. However, I got my desired branch, Computer Science and Engineering, in the second session, for which I am overwhelmed till this date. This does not happen all the time.
