Rungta College of Engineering and Technology, Bhilai (Chhattisgarh), is one of the top 5 engineering colleges in the state, and becoming a part of this institution has been one of the most important chapters of my life. I took admission here in 2022 as a B.Tech Computer Science student, full of dreams and expectations, but also surrounded by fear and uncertainty.
My journey began with the induction program, where we were introduced to the college culture, academic environment, and values. What surprised me the most was seeing foreign students on campus for the first time in my life. It was a completely new and exciting experience for me, and made me realize that this college connects students from different parts of the world.
We were allotted hostel rooms with four beds, but initially, only two students were accommodated temporarily. Hostel life became the foundation of many unforgettable memories. The mess food was surprisingly good, and Thursdays were always special because ofthe unique menu items. These small things brought happiness in a completely new environment.
However, the beginning was not easy. I was new to the college, extremely nervous, and had no friends at first. I came from a Hindi-medium background, while the college followed an English-medium academic system. Although I understood the concepts well, my main struggle was expressing answers properly in English during exams.
The biggest shock of my life came when I scored just 35, passing marks in Engineering Mathematics-1. In school, I was always a topper in mathematics, so this result broke my confidence completely. For a moment, I even thought about quitting. But then I reminded myself of my goal — to become a successful software engineer. Giving up was not an option.
From that point, I decided to work harder than ever before. I focused on improving my writing skills, understanding concepts deeply, and managing time during exams. Slowly, things started to change. Today, I proudly say that I have no backlogs in any subject, and I now answer papers confidently, filling all pages properly with correct explanations.
Now, as I stand in my final year, nostalgia surrounds me. I miss the old hostel days —-late-night talks with friends, bunking classes, group studies before exams, and laughing without any reason. That environment shaped not only my academic life but also my personality.
My campus journey taught me:

Rungta College of Engineering and Technology did not just give me technical education; it gave me life lessons. From a nervous Hindi-medium student to a confident Computer Science graduate, this journey has transformed me completely. I will always carry these memories with pride and gratitude.
