Hello VIT aspirants. I am Hema Harshini first year undergraduate majoring in Computer Science and Engineering.
VITEE EXAM INTRODUCTION:
VITEE is Vellore Institue of Technology entrance examination. The total exam time limit is 2 hours 30 minutes. Total marks are 125. The subjects involved are Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Aptitude, English with marking scheme as follows:
- Physics : 35 marks
- Chemistry : 35 marks
- Maths : 40 marks
- Aptitude : 10 marks
- English : 5 marks
The whole paper has no negative marking
I have not put separate effort for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry in preparation for the VIT examination as I was preparing for JEE examination but I have referred to basic concepts of English such as Grammar, tenses, subject-verb agreement, clauses, Types of sentences. I have practised few questions of aptitude from (www.indiabix.com) which were helpful to me during my examination.
EXAM EXPERIENCE:
I have started my exam with Chemistry which included all theoretical questions that I studied from NCERT textbooks of first year and second year, and few formula based questions from thermodynamics, ktg and the paper was easy, then physics which included formula based questions with limited theory questions and the paper was easy to moderate, and then mathematics, which consumed lot of my time . The aptitude paper was moderate and I was able to answer 8 questions out of 10. I was able to answer all the questions of English as they included basic tenses, subject-verb agreement. The overall paper was moderate and I scored 82 marks with a rank of around 7000 due to general category and was able to secure a seat in Computer Science and engineering category at VIT Chennai .
SUGGESTIONS:
- Read NCERT thoroughly for physics and chemistry.
- Solves maths at the end if the paper is tough and lengthy.
- Attempt all the questions as there is no negative marking
- Time management is very important. I have allocated 15 mins to Aptitude and English which worked very well for me to attempt all the questions and also to revise my paper.
Thanks for your time and patience. Hope the content is useful. All the best for your future endeavours.
