GATE COAP 2025: Registration, Admission Process, Seat Allotment, Options Available

Last Updated : 23 Jul, 2025

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a crucial exam for engineering and science graduates seeking M.Tech, M.S., and Ph.D. admissions in IITs, IISc, and top universities. It is also used for PSU recruitments, making it vital for career growth. However, securing admission to IITs and IISc requires more than just a good GATE score. To streamline the admission process, the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) was introduced, allowing candidates to view and accept admission offers from participating institutes through a centralized platform.

What is GATE COAP?

The Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) is an online platform designed to streamline M.Tech admissions across IITs and IISc Bangalore for candidates with valid GATE scores. It is a centralized system where students can view and accept admission offers from participating institutes. However, COAP is not an application portal—candidates must apply separately to each institute before using COAP to accept offers.
