I had the opportunity to participate in the National Payments Corporation of India's (NPCI) off-campus recruitment process for the Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) role. The process consisted of three elimination rounds. Here are the details:

Rounds Overview:

  • Online Assessment 1 (Aptitude & Technical MCQ's (Python, numPY)
  • Online Assessment 2 (Coding Round)
  • Final Interview (Technical + HR)

Round 1: Online Assessment 1 (60 min) ( 23rd Dec 2023)

The first round of the recruitment process was an online assessment consisting of two sections: Aptitude and Technical MCQs.

The Aptitude section was further divided into two sub-sections:

- Quantitative Aptitude

- Reasoning Ability

Each sub-section contained 20 questions, and a total of 40 minutes was provided to solve both. During this time, candidates were allowed to navigate between the sub-sections. After completing the Aptitude section, the Technical MCQ section began. This section consisted of 20 questions to be solved within 20 minutes. The questions primarily focused on Python libraries, such as NumPy and scikit-learn, as well as outputs of code snippets and SQL.

Tip: Use your time wisely to ensure you can answer all questions effectively.

Round 2: Online Assessment 2 (45 min ) ( 2nd Mar 2024)

The second round was a coding assessment, featuring two questions to be solved within 45 minutes.

  • The first question was straightforward and required implementing basic if-else conditions.
  • The second question was a direct LeetCode medium-level problem.

The coding round was not particularly difficult and could be easily cleared with a basic understanding of coding concepts.

Round 3: Technical Interview ( 45 min) ( 4th Apr 2024)

The third round was a Technical + HR Interview with a panel comprising two technical interviewers and one HR representative. HR interviewer began by asking me to introduce myself. Following this, the technical interviewers took over and primarily focused on my project. You should have a clear understanding of the project architecture, workflow, and the underlying code. They also asked me to write small code snippets related to my project.Additionally, they tested my knowledge on concepts such as Authentication, Authorization, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). Strong explanation skills are crucial to succeeding in this round.

Final Result: Selected (selection mail on Sep 12th and Received offer letter on Oct 6th and Joining date as 14th Oct , Location:Mumbai)
