Aptitude Round

The placement drive began with an aptitude round consisting of 30 questions: 20 technical and 10 analytical. Out of the 30 marks, the format required students to write essay-like descriptions for 2 out of the 3 provided questions. The technical questions tested core concepts in programming, data structures, and algorithms, while the analytical questions assessed logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities. From this round, 61 students were selected to proceed to the next stage.

Group Discussion (GD)

In the group discussion round, each group comprised 10 students, with discussion topics drawn from chits. Our group had to discuss the topic "Challenges in the IT Industry." Following the discussion, we had to describe our projects and answer if we were comfortable working with Java.

Questions Asked:

  • What is Data Structures (DS)?
  • What are the types of Queue?
  • What is Regex?
  • Describe a method in Java.

Basic questions were asked to test your Java knowledge. Despite a good discussion, I was not selected for the next rounds. However, I got to know that the process involved two technical interviews followed by an HR interview.

Technical Interviews

First Technical Interview:

The first technical interview focused on discussing the candidates' projects, writing code, and answering SQL queries. It was designed to evaluate practical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Second Technical Interview:

The second technical interview delved deeper into technical concepts and required more in-depth coding exercises and discussions.

HR Interview

The final step was the HR interview, which assessed the candidates' cultural fit, communication skills, and overall personality. Each step in the process was an elimination round, ensuring that only the most suitable candidates progressed to the next stage.

Although I didn't advance beyond the group discussion, the experience was enriching and provided valuable insights into the selection process of major IT companies.
