Canva provides us with an option of designing and creation. It allows us to create not only a single page restricted design but with multiple other pages. The option of multiple pages in Canva helps us create posts for social media in an order. In this article, we will learn how to add pages and make them slide down in Canva.

What is Canva?

Canva is a well known online digital tool or platform that is used for multiple purposes in graphic designing or poster designing. It offers us a variety of tools and applications that help us refine our poster designs and graphics, fine tool our creations and provides us with different colors, and multiple properties such as Background remover, adjusting contrast, saturator and much more. It is an ocean packed with wonderful resources such as great fonts, extensive frames, beautiful graphics and advanced design components.

How to make the pages slide down in Canva?

Open Canva and Create a New Design >> Add an image in Page 1 >> Click the plus Icon & Add a new Page >> Add Transitions between Pages to slide down >> Finalize your design

Step 1: Open and create a new Design

  • Login to Canva using your account. If you don’t have an account, create one using your personal email id or work email id.
  • Create a new design by clicking on the Create a Design button in the topmost left side column. A box will appear on the screen. Choose a frame of required dimensions you want, it can be an Instagram post or a landscape.

Step 2: Add Pages to the Design File (+ Select View)

  • A bottom toolbar will be shown if the view is set to Thumbnail. In that, a Plus icon will appear on the right side, click that to add a new page to the design file.
  • If a Scroll view is set, the plus icon should be visible at the top right column just beside the image. Click on the plus icon covered in a rectangle to add a new page in the design file.

Step 3: Add Images to the Design File

  • Click on the Uploads tab in the left column and click add a picture. Add three pictures to the first page and arrange them in a manner such that half of the image is visible and rest half is spread across the outer design file.
  • Duplicate the same in the form of a next page, and change the placement of the same images in the second file. Basically, if the image in the first page is spread from 0 to 60 measurements of space, then the next page will contain 60 to the last measurement of the space of image.
  • This will help us when we will slide image down. On sliding images down, the images will show a transitional effect in video that they are actually moving in a vertically downwards manner.

Step 4: Add Transitions

  • To add a transition between the pages, click on the triangle sign between the pages.
  • A transition bar will open on the left side and choose the transition that best suits for downward shifting. Some of them being Stack animation, Left wipe, Right wipe, and then you can also edit the durations & directions in the lower settings.

Step 5: Finalize your Design

  • Place the images in an ordered fashion and when the design is complete, click on the play button at the top rightmost column to play the created design with transitions in the form of a video.
  • Save or download the video for reference.

Key points to consider while making the pages slide down in Canva

  • Select Thumbnail View: In thumbnail view, it becomes easier to choose transitions, edit the image and duplicate or add pages. While in Scroll view also the former is easier, but little complexity arises.
  • Set Image positions properly: Since we are creating an Image slider type page, so we must ensure that the images are placed in both the pages from one side to the other. The placement must be in a manner such that the slide and transitions look natural.

Mistakes to avoid while making the pages slide down in Canva

  • Adding too many pages: Too many pages increase the redundancy of the design & the transitioning becomes a bit more complex. Add only those pages which are necessary else, remove them.
  • Improper Alignment: Since we are creating a transitional effect, wrong placement of images will lead to a wrong alignment, and thus the transition will be disrupted. Thus, ensure a proper alignment of all images in all the pages.
