Hello Geeks,
I hail from a background where pursuing higher education, especially for girls, is often discouraged. Despite these societal norms, I completed my schooling in the bio stream through the MP Board, studying in Hindi medium. Determined to break barriers, I fought with my parents and convinced them to allow me to pursue my graduation. My efforts paid off, and I secured admission to Holkar Science College, one of the premier institutions in MP with an NAAC A+ grade. My subjects included Bioinformatics, Computer Science, and Zoology.
Transitioning from a Hindi medium to an English medium education system was a significant challenge. The classes and textbooks, particularly in Bioinformatics, were in English. Faced with this obstacle, I was determined to overcome it. I began learning English, which gradually helped me understand the concepts better and keep up with my coursework.
During my graduation, the COVID-19 pandemic struck, which disrupted traditional learning environments. However, I used this lockdown period productively, focusing intensely on self-improvement. I dedicated my time to learning multiple programming languages and enhancing my technical skills.
Despite my hard work and newfound skills, I encountered a major setback during the placement season. Companies primarily focused on students from the computer science stream, which meant I missed out on job opportunities. Undeterred by this setback, I decided to pursue a Master of Computer Science to officially align myself with the computer science field.
Simultaneously, I enrolled in the ITEP course by the Infobeans Foundation. Gaining admission to this course required me to clear an aptitude test and an interview, which I successfully did. Alongside my Master's degree, I took this opportunity to further hone my skills. I dedicated myself to learning additional skills, including C, C++, Java, and Web Design, to improve my employability.
My perseverance and hard work eventually paid off. I secured a position as a trainee software developer at Infobeans Foundation. Building on this experience, I later secured a position as a front-end developer at Parkhya Solutions.
Reflecting on my journey, I am proud of how far I have come. From struggling to pursue graduation to becoming a software developer, my journey has been marked by determination, resilience, and continuous learning. It is a testament to the power of perseverance and the willingness to overcome obstacles to achieve one's dreams. My story serves as an inspiration to anyone facing similar challenges, proving that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
