Research Computing Services

The University of Cambridge's national centre for digital research infrastructure

Research Computing Services (RCS) powers world-class research with cutting-edge compute and storage. We design, deploy and run high-performance, secure and scalable digital infrastructure for the University, the UK research community, and selected industry partners.

Hit the limits of your laptop? Need thousands of CPUs? Working with petabytes of data?

RCS delivers research infrastructure at every scale.

What we offer:

  • High-performance computing
  • Fast, large-scale storage
  • Research software engineering
  • Secure research platforms

RCS is home to the Cambridge Open Zettascale Lab — an industry-funded initiative sponsored by Dell Technologies and delivered in partnership with UKAEA, DiRAC, Intel and Pembroke College. We also host the Research Software Engineering team for the Institute of Computing for Climate Science.
