It's been a long time, now I'm coming back home
Yeah, so. I haven't posted an entry in here in almost a year, and even then, the last two entries were song lyrics. I don't really have a reason for that ... I just haven't felt like writing anything in here. Also, I've been writing a screenplay. So that's taken up a lot of my writing time. In fact, tomorrow, (weather permitting, that is), I'm going to Shreveport to discuss said screenplay with my two lead actors. So wish me luck on that. I've also fallen in love. Desperately, madly, hopelessly, in love. So, I got that going for me, which is nice. Also working on some theatre things. Did a comedy show back in August, and doing another play sometime this year. February or March or something like that. We'll see how that goes. Oh. And I watch a lot of movies these days. A LOT of movies. But more on that later. How is everyone? good night and i love you all, trav | | Saturday, April 8th, 2006 | | 8:20 pm |
May You Stay Forever Young
My mom used to sing this song to me when I was a kid. She wrote the lyrics of it in caligraphy and it hung over my bed until I was a Junior in High School. I think, somehow, it possibly shaped me into who I am more than just about anything else. Because, this really is how I live. And it was her wish to me when I was a kid. And I think her wish came true. Forever YoungWords and Music by Bob DylanMay God bless and keep you always, May your wishes all come true, May you always do for others And let others do for you. May you build a ladder to the stars And climb on every rung, May you stay forever young, Forever young, forever young, May you stay forever young. May you grow up to be righteous, May you grow up to be true, May you always know the truth And see the lights surrounding you. May you always be courageous, Stand upright and be strong, May you stay forever young, Forever young, forever young, May you stay forever young. May your hands always be busy, May your feet always be swift, May you have a strong foundation When the winds of changes shift. May your heart always be joyful, May your song always be sung, May you stay forever young, Forever young, forever young, May you stay forever young. I hope be plays that when I see him a week from today. good night and i love you all, trav | | Saturday, March 4th, 2006 | | 3:39 pm |

Watching girls go passing by It ain’t the latest thing I’m just standing in a doorway I’m just trying to make some sense Out of these girls go passing by The tales they tell of men I’m not waiting on a lady I’m just waiting on a friend A smile relieves a heart that grieves Remember what I said I’m not waiting on a lady I’m just waiting on a friend I’m just waiting on a friend Don’t need a whore I don’t need no booze Don’t need a virgin priest But I need someone I can cry to I need someone to protect Making love and breaking hearts It is a game for youth But I’m not waiting on a lady I’m just waiting on a friend good night and i love you all, tarbis Current Mood: calm | | Monday, January 23rd, 2006 | | 6:38 pm |

25 years ...

When they've tortured and scared you for twenty-odd years,
And then they expect you to pick a career,
When you can't really function,
You're so full of fear,
A Working-Class Hero is something to be."
I love you, John.

today
work was great. it froze. we were dead. i think we made 10 sandwiches the last 4 hours. stacie, the girl i work with, brought me home. it took us an hour. the rest i didn't feel like typing again, so it's cut and pasted from im conversations. first of all, the weather: texans don't know shit about cold weather. a little snow, mostly ice. there was actually black ice at points. i've never seen black ice in my life. it's snowed off and on all day. it took us 15 minutes to get up a hill. a guy in a jeep pushed us. it's 10 miles away, and it took an hour. and there's people turning around in the middle of the road on a one way. with slick roads, people skidding and losing their breaks, they're turning around to go the wrong way down a one way. people are fuckin' stupid. and now, for something completely different: there's this customer that comes in quite a bit. he's a vietnam vet, he's got a nasty, dirty hobo beard, and is blind in one eye. the comes in today and hands stacie, and i 3 letters he's written. one to the chief of police of highland village, one to the mayor, and one to the city. the first two are about how he feels the city owes him money because his wife mistakenly called the cops when they were having an argument, and everything was ok when they got there and the cops harassed him and beat him up. he said he was going to bring the media to his court hearing. the third is a letter to the city of highland village, saying that he quit skydiving, rock climbing, and bungee jumping off of 70 story buildings 20 years ago and devoted his life to building a space ship, which he has in his backyard. it should be ready in about a year. he thinks this will be a great advancement in science and aviation, and that he thinks that lewisville lake is the ideal place to launch it from, because of it's spare population and its location. this will also bring great publicity to highland village, dallas, texas, and even the united states. he wants to know if the city of highland village would like to be a part of this great historical moment. the human race never ceases to amaze me. good night and i love you all, trav Current Mood: amused | | Sunday, December 4th, 2005 | | 6:12 pm |

wow ...
I didn't even realize what day it was. So George died four years ago yesterday ... Isn’t it a pity? Isn’t it a shame? How we break each other’s hearts, And cause each other pain? How we take each other’s love, Without thinking anymore, Forgetting to give back, Isn’t it a pity? Some things take so long, But how do I explain? When not too many people Can see we’re all the same? And because of all their tears, Your eyes can’t hope to see? The beauty that surrounds them, Now, isn’t it a pity? Isn’t it a pity, (oh-o) Now, isn’t is a shame, How we break each other’s hearts, And cause each other pain? How we take each other’s love, Without thinking anymore, Forgetting to give back, Now, isn’t it a pity? i love you all, tarbis | | Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005 | | 3:45 pm |
rock stars and fancy cars first of all ... 32 years ago today John F. Kennedy was killed in Dallas.
now, how was the rock and roll weekend of my life? FAN. FUCKING. TASTIC.
Friday night Alex and I caught the 11:45 showing of Walk the Line. it was great. Joaquin was AMAZING as Johnny Cash. better than I expected him to be. And Reese was a very surprisingly convincing June. I was skeptical, but she pulled it off.
Saturday. ( Ben. Fucking. Folds.Collapse )
Sunday. ( Paul McCartneyCollapse )
EDIT:I found the full setlist for the Ben Folds show, so I just wrote it out. It's there now.

Saw the wishlist, Jolt of the City, and [DARYL] last night and they all kicked some serious ass. two weeks from now it's Walk the Line on Friday, Ben Folds on Saturday, and Paul McCartney on Sunday. It's gonna be the weekend of the year. that's about all the news that's fit to print. good night and i love you all, trav | | Tuesday, October 4th, 2005 | | 1:46 am |

The other night I'm watching the dvd of the Crossroads Guitar Festival
from June of 2004, and Joe Walsh is playing, and it cuts to the
audience, and I see this:

That's Eric with the white shirt and the white fishing cap and the
sunglasses, and me with the beard sunglasses and baseball
cap. Yeah, this offically makes me cooler than you.
Because not only was I there, but I'm also on the dvd.
good night and i love you all,

Misunderstood
When you're back in your old neighborhood The cigarettes taste so good But you're so misunderstood You're so misunderstood There's something there that you can't find Honest when you're tellin' a lie You hurt her but you don't know why You love her but you don't know why Short on long term goals There's a party there that we oughta go to Do you still love rock and roll? Do you still love rock and roll? It's only a quarter to three Reflecting off your C.D. You're looking at a picture of me You're staring at a picture of me Take the guitar player for a ride He ain't never been satisfied He thinks he owes some kind of debt Be years before he gets over it There's a fortune inside your head All you touch turns to lead You think you might just crawl back in bed The fortune inside your head You know you're just a mama's boy Positively unemployed So misunderstood So misunderstood I know you're gotta God shaped hole Leanin' out your So misunderstood [x4] I'd like to thank you all for nothin' I'd like to thank you all for nothin' at all I'd like to thank you all for nothin' Nothin' [x4] Nothin' at all Nothin' [x3] Nothin' at all | | Saturday, September 3rd, 2005 | | 10:52 am |
New Orleans ... you will always have my heart
How many roads must a man walk down Before you call him a man? Yes, 'n' how many seas must a white dove sail Before she sleeps in the sand? Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly Before they're forever banned? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind, The answer is blowin' in the wind. How many times must a man look up Before he can see the sky? Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have Before he can hear people cry? Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows That too many people have died? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind, The answer is blowin' in the wind. How many years can a mountain exist Before it's washed to the sea? Yes, 'n' how many years can some people exist Before they're allowed to be free? Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head, Pretending he just doesn't see? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind, The answer is blowin' in the wind. http://www.illwillpress.com/kat.html | | 9:52 am |
