Growing
Hey everyone!
I recently built and launched my first Chrome extension, WebLytics ().
The idea is simple: help people understand their browsing habits by tracking how much time they spend on each website and providing detailed analytics through a dashboard.
I’ve released Version 2 with a more detailed analytics dashboard, and I’m currently working on Version 3. I’m planning to add features like website-specific goals, personalized insights, weekly usage reports, data export, and more.
But honestly, I’m struggling to get users and installs, and I’m not entirely sure what I’m missing.
I’m keeping everything free for now. My main goal is to get people to try it, understand whether it solves a real problem, and improve it based on their feedback. I might consider a freemium model later, once I have a user base.
Since this is my first Chrome extension, I’d love to hear from people here who have experience building extensions or launching products.
-
Is this idea actually useful, or am I solving a problem that most people don't care about?
-
What could I improve to make people interested in installing it?
-
Are there any features you'd expect from a good browsing analytics extension?
-
For those who have launched extensions, how did you get your first users?
I'd genuinely appreciate any suggestions, criticism, or feedback.
