Bit early to say that IMO. he also had a good last half of 2025 at Visma.

I do not compete with other projects for funding. I do not accept funding for my OSS work.

I hate the idea of competition in open source. People try to push this re: Puma and other projects, and it drives me up a wall. We're all out here, just giving away gifts for free and having fun, and you want to make this a competition!?

Two things that put me over the edge on sleep training.

  • Sleep is a health issue. If your baby isn't sleeping, they're not going to develop as well as if they slept more. You should treat total sleep duration as much as a health issue as brushing their teeth, keeping them from getting sick, etc.

  • Babies don't know how to sleep. Weird thing to say, but as you get more experienced as a parent you realize how much a baby needs to be taught through imitation/skill acquisition. They don't know how to fall and stay asleep (what a lot of sleep 'training' methods call "self soothing"). It's just a skill. Your job, as a parent, is to teach them the skills they need.

Yeah, abandoning Plaid (which is kinda the industry standard now) would be my big worry.

I had a failed-to-stop ticket and I don't think I even mentioned it (I paid it obviously).

It's supposed to reopen this year but hasn't reopened yet.

I did the full TAT in 2015. It was a lifechanging experience. Thanks for the ride, Sam.
