Current Opportunities

Job Title: Camp Counselor

Reports to: Camp Director

Employment Status: Temporary part-time, seasonal (June 15th – August 7th, 2026)

Daily Schedule: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday

Compensation: $18/hour

Position Overview

Riverside Arts Center is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated counselors to join us for Summer Camp 2026! Counselors will lead campers through their daily schedule, help maintain classroom routines, model positive behaviors, offer guidance, and foster an atmosphere of respect. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children and creating a positive, inclusive environment. Campers have the opportunity to explore all aspects of the arts through an education-based curriculum.

Duties:

  • Lead campers through their daily schedule
  • Maintain daily classroom routines, including food prep, cleanup, scheduling, and art material preparation
  • Communicate clearly with campers and colleagues, encouraging independent behaviors and offering guidance
  • Model positive adult-child and adult-adult interactions and foster an atmosphere of mutual respect

Requirements/Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with children and/or families
  • CPR/First Aid certification strongly preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs. regularly
  • Must commit to the full camp schedule – all seven weeks plus one week of training

All staff are subject to a background check upon hire and will complete staff training before camp begins.
