Diamond Head

Although Diamond Head have been had many breaks and line up changed since they emerged onto the heavy metal scene back in the mid 70s, I was pleasantly surprised seeing them live recently at the talent that the entire band still have. If anything, their addition of new members has kept the band fresh and relevant to the times, and they have kept producing solid music over the years.

They are great performers, and opened the show with a huge instrumental piece, demonstrating their skills, before Brian Tatler, lead vocalist and longest standing band member, came on stage and launched into their track Out of Phase. They had the entire audience singing along straight away, and we were jumping up and down, and getting really into it with the band. They maintained their energy throughout the show, and despite their age, they were dancing full out and throwing themselves around no end!

They played a great selection of their music from over the years, ranging right from tracks from Lighting to the Nations, up to their newest tracks from the 2007 album, What’s In Your Head? It was a great show with incredible talent and energy.
